While I\u2019m not usually a fan of Hong Kong\u2019s humid summer, I do love feasting with friends under the sun whenever clear days roll around! Having spent many-a-summer in the city, I\u2019ve tasted my way across the best outdoor restaurants in Hong Kong. A new addition to the elegant French restaurant<\/a>, La Terrace offers a more relaxed environment for you to enjoy Louise\u2019s Michelin-starred fare. I was lucky to chance upon La Terrace on a cool evening, and was utterly surprised by the warm and inviting garden I was led to enjoy my meal. A welcome complement to Louise\u2019s refined interiors, the al fresco dining area added a unique country charm to my dining experience where conversation flowed just as easily as pours of vino.<\/p>\n

Conveniently located at IFC Mall, La Rambla is the ideal spot for after-work happy hour or a weekend cat-up over food and drinks \u2013 all accompanied by superb views of the Victoria Harbour. While the interior\u2019s ever-inviting atmosphere is ideal for casual group dining, I always find myself drawn to the expansive terrace. On cooler days, this is my fave spot to clink glasses of bubbles over a spread of authentic Catalan tapas.<\/p>\n

Since opening in 2024, Mue Mue has become one of my go-to Thai restaurants in Hong Kong<\/a>, thanks to its varied menu of innovative classics. Not only is its spacious yet intimate interior ideal for a casual meal, but I also find Mue Mue\u2019s outdoor area perfect for al fresco dining. While this is usually reserved for its adjacent Mue Bar, the servers are usually happy to accommodate you if you request to dine in the open air. Mue Mue is nestled between high-rises in Tsim Sha Tsui<\/a>, so you\u2019ll get to enjoy sweeping views of the harbourfront, clock tower and all.<\/p>\n

The Continental might be better known for its delectable business lunches<\/a> and unbeatable happy hour deals<\/a> (you might even spot one of us in Team Honey here typing away with a glass of white!), but its terrace is truly the highlight of the restaurant. Surrounded by lush greenery, this garden is a serene oasis in the heart of the CBD. Whether you\u2019re in need of a midday break away from the office or a much-deserved after-work treat, this outdoor restaurant has you covered.<\/p>\n

Since its relocation from Wan Chai, 22 Ships has evolved into a spacious restaurant with a charming al fresco dining area that overlooks the quieter streets of Staunton Street. You can still expect the same delectable tapas at the outdoor restaurant\u2019s Sheung Wan location, and during warmer months, I find the light and refreshing Pan con Tomate and Ensalada de Tomate ideal dishes to enjoy on 22 Ships\u2019 street-level terrace.<\/p>\n

Located along the Tseung Kwan O<\/a> Promenade, this restaurant offers two contrasting dining experiences in one place. While Makan Makan\u2019s brightly coloured interior pairs well with its delectable Southeast Asian dishes, the real draw is its outdoor dining area. With plenty of tables under a sheltering canopy, you\u2019ll be treated to expansive views of Junk Bay while dining al fresco.<\/p>\n

As one of my favourite Middle Eastern restaurants in Hong Kong<\/a>, Maison Libanaise is especially charming when the weather is good enough for al fresco dining. Occupying a whole building on Shelley Street, the Maison offers a choice between dining on terraces or the rooftop. I highly recommend enjoying your feast on the rooftop, where you can enjoy prime views of Central\u2019s buzz while passing around plates of mezze. Fitted with heaters and AC, rest assured your time at Maison Libanaise will be comfy all year round.<\/p>\n

Located in the heart of Central, Mr Wolf is a favourite among white collars in the area. Don\u2019t let its slender terrace fool you \u2013 this al fresco dining area can comfortably accommodate groups of up to 12! I recommend coming in for happy hour, during which its discounted drinks will compel you to stay for its dinner menu of classic European and British fare.<\/p>\n
