Wellness has been taking over the globe of late (did you catch the Goop show on Netflix yet?), and for good reason. With our hectic lifestyles in the digital age, now more than ever, we need to be reminded to slow down, and take time for ourselves through practices such as yoga<\/a> or meditation<\/a>. One interesting space redefining just what a wellness centre can be is Asaya Hong Kong, a little piece of tranquility amid the bustling city. We went over to try out a selection of their treatments.<\/p>\n

Why we fell in love with Asaya Hong Kong<\/h2>\n

If you haven\u2019t visited Rosewood Hong Kong just yet, then you absolutely must. The hotel itself is a tribute to great design and expert hospitality, and tucked away on the 6th floor is Asaya Hong Kong. This newly-opened space is a wellness concept unlike any other in the city right now.<\/p>\n

Offering a variety of holistic health treatments alongside wellness care, spa facilities and its very own restaurant, Asaya Hong Kong pushes the boundaries of what a hotel wellness centre can be.<\/p>\n

The welcome experience<\/h3>\n

Upon arrival, expect to be greeted by a friendly face and a special tincture, whipped up freshly by the team at Asaya Kitchen and filled with herbs and ingredients with numerous healing properties. While waiting for your treatment to begin, take a look around the retail space that has been beautifully curated stocking a selection of brands and products to take home or gift. You can even make your own scrub to take away with you.<\/p>\n

Skin Analysis<\/h3>\n

I started off with a skin analysis test. Basically, a machine captures images of your face and analyses it to see if there are any problem areas, including sun damage and collagen reduction. Then, the skin specialist can recommend a bespoke skincare solution to help rectify any areas that need help, or answer any of your burning skincare questions.<\/p>\n

Take a dip in the hydrotherapy pool<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Bath House<\/h3>\n

Be sure to try out the gorgeous bath house when you go for your appointment. My favourite part was the loungers that sit inside the Jacuzzi and have jets embedded for, what feels like, a full-body massage. There\u2019s also a steam room and ice misting shower, the perfect way to invigorate any tired body.<\/p>\n

Posture mobilisation with Terry Burge<\/h3>\n

Next up, I went to see Terry Burge, an expert in everything posture. We started by chatting about my concerns, namely, feeling off-centre since my ankle was broken, and then he began to have a look at me.<\/p>\n

Firstly, he did a visual screening of my body from standing position before having me lay on the bed to check to see if there were any sore spots across my body. Thankfully, everything was looking pretty good for me, but for anyone with big posture issues, he would be a huge assistance.<\/p>\n

When I mentioned that I had recently started running, he offered to check my gait, and took me to the (stunning!) gym to take a look. While there, he noticed that my previously broken ankle was causing me to lean inwards on my left side, and gave me some practical tips and stretches to help out with this.<\/p>\n

Radiofrequency Lifting & Firming<\/h3>\n

After having my posture and alignment checked, it was time to try out the Radiofrequency treatment. The therapist prepared my skin and advised that the treatment was designed to stimulate collagen production in trouble areas. She used what felt like a heated wand to go over my skin and worked mostly on my jawline and eyebrows to help lift those areas.<\/p>\n

After the 45-minute treatment, which wasn\u2019t painful at all, I could see noticeable results in the two areas that she had been treating. I think that a few more sessions would see even better results.<\/p>\n

Afterwards, I spent time in the lounge where I enjoyed a selection of teas and dried fruits and nuts while taking in the beautiful design of the space.<\/p>\n

Asaya Hong Kong offers a number of different programmes from Emotional Awareness to Meditation & Mindfulness, so there\u2019s really something for everyone. I can\u2019t wait to head back again soon.<\/p>\n
