Setting the scene<\/h3>\n

Okay, so we may be a little late to the party on this one, but we\u2019re not in Repulse Bay every day, so we think we can be forgiven. Sitting at the bottom of The Pulse, just steps from the ocean, Sip Song has a vibrant atmosphere, full of colours, great music, a wonderful plant wall, and quirky artwork in mismatched frames: love!<\/p>\n

Before our dinner, we went and chilled on the beach for an hour or two and watched the sunset (#totesromantico) before walking over to the absolutely packed restaurant on a Sunday night, so it\u2019s definitely a great one for a little half-day excursion if you don\u2019t live southside.<\/p>\n

But what about the food?<\/h3>\n

The Scotch eggs were a hit<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

To say we were impressed would be an understatement. Every single dish that we ordered wowed us, from the beautiful compressed watermelon salad which was the perfect choice to kick things off on a balmy evening to the Thai-style Scotch eggs, that were, as noted by a self-proclaimed Scotch egg connoisseur: “flavoursome and wonderfully spiced, with flavour, not spiciness”.<\/p>\n

The crab omelette was a definite stand out<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The crab omelette was out of this world: fluffy, packed full of crab, and served with a kind of spiced tomato sauce that worked perfectly. Another highlight was the veggie green curry that had loads of yummy vegetables, including those delightful small Thai eggplants I\u2019m obsessed with, and lots of tofu too. The roti was flaky and the rice cooked to perfection. Don\u2019t miss out on ordering the basil and straw mushrooms to up your veg quota too.<\/p>\n

Dollop this on a banana roti pancake, and you’ll be away laughing<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Surprisingly, the desserts may have blown us away the most. Banana roti pancakes with nutella and chocolate sauce took us back to long days exploring Phuket, and went perfectly with the coconut and corn ice cream that I could quite happily eat on the daily.<\/p>\n

Cocktails were strong, service was amazing and the vibe had us feeling that we were in a different country.<\/p>\n
