There are a wide array of large-budget <\/span>music festivals in Asia<\/span><\/a>, as well as different <\/span>Hong Kong concerts<\/span><\/a> and underground gigs that we keep a close eye on. One that is not to be missed is of course The Week Hong Kong 2019! Returning for its third edition from 3 March to 9 March – seven nights, seven gigs, seven locations – \u00a0with over 25 local bands, we\u2019re excited to share its hot line-up with you. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Week Hong Kong 2019 returns in March<\/b><\/h3>\n

Hosted across seven <\/span>live music venues in Hong Kong<\/span><\/a>, The Week Hong Kong 2019 features over 25 local music acts ranging from hard rock and hip hop to post-punk and folk music as a celebration of diversity and homegrown sound. Each themed showcase night offers a snapshot of different up-and-coming and well-established <\/span>Hong Kong bands<\/span><\/a>, revealing the city\u2019s most talented and down-to-earth players to local music fans. And we\u2019re just excited to have this wonderful opportunity to get exposed to new genres and new tunes. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOur hope is that by making it easy to discover and celebrate, The Week Hong Kong will strengthen the music scene here and help it grow even broader, richer and more colourful,\u201d said co-founder Elaine Ip. This year, the annual music festival has each of its individual night dedicated to hip hop, metal, blues & folk, post-punk, alt-rock and world music.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not just about breaking down barriers between musical genres, but also reaching out across the different communities that call Hong Kong home,\u201d said co-founder Paul Sedille. \u201cShowcasing the diversity of Hong Kong\u2019s underground means crossing over between languages, neighbourhoods and smaller scenes that can otherwise feel very segregated.\u201d As a volunteer-run event, The Week Hong Kong 2019 proves to be one of the loveliest music festivals of the year to nurture the thriving local music scene and connect hungry local music fans.
