Enter Tai Pan Reflexology Parlour, an escape from the city in the heart of Hong Kong that offers some of the most amazing experience-based massages in town with wonderful design elements that export you to old time Shanghai.<\/p>\n

Tell us about that design then<\/h3>\n

Well, Tai Pan Reflexology Parlour has actually been around for 18 years (that\u2019s legendary for Hong Kong) and they\u2019ve kind of morphed through a variety of looks and vibes. Originally, they were one of the city\u2019s first Thai massage spots, but this year they underwent a massive refurb, themed around old Shanghai, and we are such huge fans.<\/p>\n

From the hand-painted sign on Nathan Road to the beautiful secret door that welcomes you into the space, the team have really thought of everything. Inside, a wonderful soundtrack of classic Chinese tunes harks back to a different era (last time I was there they were pumping music from Crazy Rich Asians \u00a0\u2013 #love), and you\u2019re met with tiled floors, warm woods, red velvet curtains, and pops of neon.<\/p>\n

They managed to source some classic barber chairs that are used for their signature footbaths, blending form and function as you start to relax. Lights in the footbaths rotate through a selection of bright colours, as an autonomous neck massager works on your knots and sore spots. Overhead, colourful lanterns contrast the black interior and throughout the space, a range of unique ephemera gives a truly unique feel.<\/p>\n
