After finishing her Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Social Sciences (Politics and Public Administration), Yuki decided to go big or go home and start her own online cake business &#8211; The Vege Lab &#8211; in July 2018. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">As a vegetarian for about two years herself and transitioning to veganism, she has noticed the difficulty of finding quality vegan sweet treats in Hong Kong, and the fact that people who suffer from lactose-intolerance and celiac disease are often deprived of the joy of eating cakes. The dark chocolate gives it a whole new depth of flavour, while the creamy icing adds a bit of sweetness. The sponge is super soft and moist, and everything just comes together so well. Made with unbleached flour, pumpkin puree, cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger powder, the autumn scents to me are comforting. And even though it\u2019s drizzled with syrup, the cake till holds its fluffiness. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Personally, I really like the fact that The Vege Lab is big on unconventional flavours. Some of Yuki&#8217;s other signature creations include the earl grey cake, the chai latte salted caramel cake and the passionfruit white chocolate cake\u2026 Creativity at its peak!<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Would I go back for The Vege Lab?<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Yes, yes, yes. Having been a vegan for six years myself, I know how hard it\u2019s to find good vegan cakes in Hong Kong that aren\u2019t too sweet, too dense or too crumbly.
