Though we have found a few great restaurants in the city that <a href=\"https:\/\/thehoneycombers.com\/hong-kong\/restaurants-with-vegan-options\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cater to every diet<\/a>, we&#8217;re always on the lookout for more options, so recently we swung over to Agave Central, a new <a href=\"https:\/\/thehoneycombers.com\/hong-kong\/mexican-restaurants-in-hong-kong-tacos-tequila-margaritas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mexican restaurant<\/a>, to see what we could find.<\/p>\n<h3>We tried out Agave Central<\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_153598\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-153598\" style=\"width: 900px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-153598 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/static.thehoneycombers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/05\/Agave-central-mexican-restaurant-Chalupas.jpg\" alt=\"Agave Central chalupas\" width=\"900\" height=\"600\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/static.thehoneycombers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/05\/Agave-central-mexican-restaurant-Chalupas.jpg 900w, https:\/\/static.thehoneycombers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/05\/Agave-central-mexican-restaurant-Chalupas.jpg 300w, https:\/\/static.thehoneycombers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/05\/Agave-central-mexican-restaurant-Chalupas.jpg 768w\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 900px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 900\/600;\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-153598\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">These vegetarian Chalupas were very moreish&#8230;<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The sister restaurant of the popular Agave restaurant in Wan Chai, Agave Central has taken over the spot that was previously home to The Nile (rest in peace.)\u00a0Inside, they&#8217;ve kept the interiors more refined at this location, and I really like the ceiling murals that add a touch of excitement to the dining room. <\/p>\n<p>First things first: we jumped right in to some Margaritas, and were not disappointed with the offerings. The traditional Marg was perfectly salted and had a great mix of tequila and lime, so good on a sunny day, a hard day, or any day for that matter. We also tried the Serrano al Melon Margarita, which is a blend of Serrano Chili with Blanco Tequila and Midori (which I hadn&#8217;t had since I was 15). The result was actually really good, and I loved the chili kick. But what about the food?<\/p>\n<h3>Let\u2019s talk about the food<\/h3>\n<p>First of all, I\u2019m pumped that they have considered vegetarians. There are four choices of vegetarian tacos (11 in total) on the menu, my only problem was that they kind of all tasted the same. I couldn\u2019t distinguish between the avocado version and the cactus variety, as they were so covered with salsa and cheese. I hear from reliable sources that the Carne Asada version with grilled ribeye is amazing though, so maybe it&#8217;s just a veggie thing?<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_153601\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-153601\" style=\"width: 900px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-153601 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/static.thehoneycombers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/05\/Agave-central-mexican-restaurant-tacos.jpg\" alt=\"Agave Central tacos\" width=\"900\" height=\"600\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/static.thehoneycombers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/05\/Agave-central-mexican-restaurant-tacos.jpg 900w, https:\/\/static.thehoneycombers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/05\/Agave-central-mexican-restaurant-tacos.jpg 300w, https:\/\/static.thehoneycombers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/05\/Agave-central-mexican-restaurant-tacos.jpg 768w\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 900px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 900\/600;\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-153601\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The tacos tasted too much alike for my tastes, but I will be back to try the portobello mushroom ones<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>I did really enjoy the Ensalada de Nopal, which is a salad made from roasted cactus, avocado, tomato, ranchero cheese, cilantro and lime juice. We had the guacamole and queso fresco variety, and they were sinfully good.
