The Mid-Levels and SoHo are packed full of great restaurants and cafes, like POP Vegan<\/a> and SpiceBox Organics<\/a>, cocktail bars<\/a> and boutique fashion stores<\/a>, but the area is also home to many furry four-legged friends and their humans. One Hong Kong dog who lives right in the thick of all the action is Lucy the pug, a gorgeous little dog who found her forever home with business owner Katie Forster. We met up with the pair to discuss dog-friendly restaurants, adventures and life on all fours in the city.<\/p>\n

Lucy the pug<\/h2>\n

Hi, Lucy. Thanks for hanging out with us today. Can you tell us about how your found your human?<\/h3>\n

Well, my human Katie had already adopted a dog from Hong Kong Dog Rescue, but unfortunately he was quite an ill little guy. So when he passed away, she got an email saying that they had a pug puppy in quite a bad state who needed a home. Katie came to visit me and I was really sick, but she must have seen something special behind my bad skin condition and my nervousness, and she decided to take me home.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been almost nine years, and I couldn\u2019t have found a better place or a better human!<\/p>\n

What are some of your favourite things to do?<\/h3>\n

I\u2019m a real home body. I love to roll on my back in the morning and have my tummy rubbed, that\u2019s one of my favourite things. I like sitting on laps too and chasing my tail. I do like going out for walks, but about twenty minutes in I usually stop and get her to carry me; I\u2019m getting a bit older now, so I think that\u2019s understandable.<\/p>\n

But I guess my favourite thing in the world is going to work with Katie. I do this miserable face when I see her leaving the house, and then she will pick up my lead and I will go berserk, as it means I get to go into the office. Then I get to sleep under the desk and hang out with my work pals. It makes me grumble and snort!<\/p>\n

Where do you like going walking?<\/h3>\n

Lucy likes going for walks, but not as much as she loves tummy rubs<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

I think my favourite is Victoria Peak Garden. There\u2019s a stream up there and I love getting my paws in the water, especially when it\u2019s hot.<\/p>\n

And what about food? What do you like to eat?<\/h3>\n

I have all kinds of allergies; pugs are quite a troubled breed. Luckily, Katie makes me homemade food, like roast duck, sweet potato, rice, pumpkin or salmon. My favourite treat is fish skin from the wet markets, which is only about $10 a bag!<\/p>\n

What cafes and restaurants do you like to go to?<\/h3>\n

Lucy enjoys spending time in SoHo bars and restaurants like Posto Pubblico<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

We live right next to Indian Village<\/a>, which is a real little Mum and Pop spot, so we go there quite often. Linguini Fini<\/a> is another place we like to visit, as well as Posto Pubblico<\/a>. Sometimes, on Sunday mornings, we wander down to Feather & Bone<\/a> and get a cheeky croissant and coffee. If we are in Wan Chai, I like to sit outside at\u00a0Pici<\/a> too.<\/p>\n

Finally, would you say that you are a good guard dog?<\/h3>\n

No! I want to be the best friend of anyone who comes into the house. Being a guard dog is not my thing. I’d rather lie on the back of the sofa.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
