Despite the fact that most people in Hong Kong follow Chinese beliefs: Confucianism, Taoism, Buddhism etc., Christmas in Hong Kong is an interesting time for many reasons. A number of festive pop-ups spring up<\/a>, as major buildings are adorned with lights and decorations<\/a>. Christmas music<\/a> comes blaring through the speakers at most of the malls and special Christmas menus<\/a> are added at many restaurants throughout the city. And of course there are most-wanted gifts<\/a>! We decided to make a list of what we want for Christmas, just in case the big guy in red happens to be reading up on what\u2019s hot in Hong Kong<\/a> with Honeycombers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

While pets are a great addition to the family if you have the time for them, remember to never gift an animal<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Honestly, I don\u2019t want for much in my life apart from world peace. BUT if I have to choose one thing, then I would say that I want to adopt two kitties. Our apartment is pretty small, but it would feel more homely if we had some feline friends running around, plus, there are lots of animals in Hong Kong that need good homes, and IKEA has designed some amazing cat furniture especially for small apartments. Just remember, you should never gift a pet to someone unless you have discussed it with them first.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a big fan of psych-rock music, I\u2019ve laid eyes on Tame Impala\u2019s latest (surprise) release: The Collectors Edition box set \u2013 Currents B-Sides & Remixes. It includes the unreleased tracks of their critically acclaimed 2015 album Currents, featuring a limited edition red marbled vinyl, a 12\u201d with two remixes, a 7\u201d and a flexi disc with three B-sides, a poster and a zine. In my opinion, their B-sides are even more entrancing and\u2026 spacey. I would love to play those gloomy yet lustrous tracks over and over again during Christmas holidays.<\/p>\n

While everyone is concerned about the rumour that Kodak\/Fujifilm has stopped producing their 135mm film rolls, I turned my eyes to an amateur film camera format: the 120mm medium format. I\u2019m a long-time collector of 35mm format film cameras since I started my photography career, but I\u2019ve never touched any 120mm medium format film camera. Some big names like Hasselblad, Relleiflex, Mamiya are always in my head. Gorgeous tonality, richer colours, better resolution with a better print size. I think I will give Hasselblad 503CX a shot to capture the Christmas ambience.<\/p>\n

Escape the busy city on a vintage bicycle that you can ride around the park<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Ever since I was young, I\u2019ve always wanted a vintage bicycle. I\u2019m not an endurance or competitive cyclist, but I like the nostalgic and romantic idea of riding an old bicycle through the quiet city streets. The bicycle would either be light blue or black, and would also have a woven light brown basket on the front, with a silver bell on the right handle. It might be a bit difficult to own a bike in Hong Kong, given that it\u2019s not the most cycling-friendly city, but riding around with my earphones on shutting out the rest of the world, on a deserted street, around the house, in a park or to to the grocery shop, I imagine to be an incredibly calming experience amongst the loud city noise.<\/p>\n
