The Adventures of Tintin is a series of twenty-four comic albums following the intricate and amusing escapade \u2013 think tomb of Pharaoh, unknown outer space meteorite, underwater treasure hunting of pirates \u2013 of the young reporter Tintin, the sarcastic rum-loving Captain Haddock and the absent-minded physicist Professor Calculus. The superb storyline and representation of characters weaves together cultural, social and political contexts, making it both child-friendly and thought-provoking for adults.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kicking off in November, Hong Kong Contemporary Art Foundation (aka HOCA Foundation) will present a landmark exhibition at ArtisTree Hong Kong, showcasing eight comic albums from the internationally-renowned The Adventures of Tintin series, including Tintin in America, Cigars of the Pharaoh, The Blue Lotus, The Broken Ear, King Ottokar’s Sceptre, The Shooting Star, The Red Sea Sharks and Tintin in Tibet. To make things better, the exhibition also features three unique and exclusive models of Tintin scenes, one of them being a collector\u2019s model of a street scene populated by signature Tintin cars that highlights the distinct automobiles of the time. <\/span><\/p>\n

Dedicated to art education, HOCA Foundation also offers a 2-day public conference from 18-19 November aiming to explore the importance of comic art in contemporary society. The free event will include panel sessions discussing Tintin\u2019s legacy, a keynote lecture by the world\u2019s foremost \u2018Tintinologist\u2019 Michael Farr and more.<\/span><\/p>\n

There are also <\/span>three pop-up shops<\/span><\/a> selling Tintin memorabilia in Hong Kong, so all the diehard Tintin fans can go on a shopping spree! <\/span><\/p>\n

The World of Tintin will be held from 17 November to 26 December, Wednesday to Sunday from 12-8pm.<\/span><\/p>\n
