When we stopped by for an espresso with owner Marcello Pignatelli, we quickly were enamoured by the beautiful store. Unlike the behemoth international stores that line the streets below, Il Salotto by Dal Duca has created a haven of Italian style.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen customers come, we close the door. We sit down on the sofa. Before we start talking about suits, I want to know about him: what he likes, what he does. Then we can find the direction for him. It\u2019s nice because it becomes more personal; it\u2019s not just selling,\u201d says Pignatelli of the venture.<\/p>\n

The store is a respite away from Hong Kong’s bust streets<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Dotted between beautifully crafted suits, ties and fabric swatches, little nick nacks that Pignatelli has collected and selected create a truly bespoke shopping experience. Clients can sit on the comfortable sofas as they listen to Italian music from the 30s and 40s and discuss their needs and wants, as Pignatelli works out the best garment.<\/p>\n

Handcrafted in Italy<\/h3>\n

Il Salotto by Dal Duca works directly with companies who have been in the garment business for years. Sartoria Pirozzi for example has been crafting bespoke suits in Italy for nearly 70 years, while Marco Pescarolo reinvents Italian tradition in a contemporary way.<\/p>\n
