Here at Honeycombers Hong Kong, we’re always looking for stylish new things. From the latest cruelty-free makeup<\/a>\u00a0to wonderful Hong Kong fashion designers<\/a> and the best Hong Kong staycations<\/a>\u00a0– we want to experience it all! So when 02 Hair Studio suggested that I make a visit, I decided it was time to throw caution to the wind and opted for a shaved head and pink hair. Find out why.<\/p>\n

A visit to 02 Hair Studio<\/h3>\n

The great thing about 02 Hair Studio is that they do a colour consultation before your actual appointment, to make sure that they understand what you want and that your expectations are realistic.<\/p>\n

When I showed my stylist Robbie my picture of Jessie J with pink hair, both he and I were under no illusion that she woke up like that. A tight buzz cut with pastel pink colour is not something that lasts long, and even as I write this – two weeks later – my dark hair is already coming back in.<\/p>\n

What Robbie did say was that he could get it pretty close, and that it would last about 10 days, and that\u2019s all I wanted to hear!<\/p>\n

Losing it<\/h3>\n

It didn’t take long for Robbie to give me a shaved head<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

A few weeks later, I returned to the salon where Robbie started by shaving my head. Having had short sides for years already, this was something I had always wanted to do – my Everest if you will, and he made some lovely Flock of Seagulls-esque styles as he lobbed it off. I expected all the weight of the world lift off my shoulders when this was finally complete, alas this was not the case. But I fell in love with my buzzcut immediately. #freedom<\/p>\n

Next up, Robbie made me blonde (and put me under this very sci-fi steamer to keep the short hair moist while colouring) before applying the beautiful pink colour: Instamatic by Colour Touch in Pink Dream – a Wella product. Around 20 minutes later, we washed it off, and I was a new person!<\/p>\n

What\u2019s it like now?<\/h3>\n

The new decor at the salon is very light, bright and refreshing<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

I can honestly say that this is one of my favourite hairstyles ever. I don\u2019t have to think when I leave the house, and Robbie went in with these tiny Japanese clippers to give me a very close shave that won\u2019t need to be touched for a while. As for the colour, it was totally fun while it lasted, and it\u2019s obvious that Robbie knows his trade. I would suggest anybody who wants a vibrant or natural-looking colour to swing by 02 Hair Studio – there\u2019s a reason they\u2019ve been in business for 20 years in Hong Kong!<\/p>\n
