There is nothing better than a fabulous brunch to start the weekend right, and if it comes with live music<\/a> and entertainment, then Honeycombers Hong Kong is there with dancing shoes on. Happening on the last Saturday of every month, The Fiasco at Carbone is a riotous brunch that ups the ante for Hong Kong’s brunch scene, promising a solid meal and high volume entertainment.<\/p>\n

Carbone has long been a haunt for those seeking an energetic dinner with no end. It is one of the rare places in Hong Kong where you can enjoy a comfortable dinner with close company, spilling over to drinks, while hours pass. The menu is solid, reliable, and always to their standard of excellence, but with The Fiasco, the whole experience is turned loose. While on a normal dinner you forgo the club to indulge in digestifs, this daytime extravaganza brings the high-impact volume and lights to your afternoon.<\/p>\n

Expect lights, costumes and colour<\/h3>\n

While I don\u2019t want to give too much away (the endless surprises are the best parts of The Fiasco), the performances are the standout of this brunch. A sultry singer, who is rumoured to work in legal, sings her heart out in the most soothing way, while actors bring about Al Capone era finesse with gun fights, fedoras, and even a motorised scooter charging through the crowd. The dancers glow with neons that bring a star quality to the night sky darkness Carbone achieves by blacking out the afternoon sun. Throughout the meal, performances come at a regular pace, with a DJ and club level lighting in between, guests often jumping from their seats to dance with friends and strangers alike.<\/p>\n

Among these shows, the servers bring about a delectable feast, from fresh seafood fare to the pasta and steaks Carbone is known for. Chef Billy Otis starts the show with oysters and other indulgent ocean bites to pair with a welcoming shot of Limoncello. The meal moves into some of the signatures of the kitchen, including the much loved Spicy Rigatoni with Vodka and generous cuts of steak. The combination of these delicious platters, the endless drinks, and the shows to excite the senses creates a true experience, rarely found in the Hong Kong dining scene but common in global brunch lure – do expect to go back onto Wyndham Street and wonder if what just happened was real.<\/p>\n
