To celebrate this year\u2019s international Pet Day, I\u2019m revealing my five favourite pet-friendly cafes and restaurants in Hong Kong to dine with my eight-month-old pup (and every foster dog<\/a> before her \u2013 because yes, I\u2019m that person with a rotating furry entourage)! These spots not only boast outstanding menus and dog-loving staff; they get it \u2013 no limits on dining time here, just space to relax while your sidekick snoozes under the table. Whether you\u2019re looking to chill out with your affectionate cuddle buddies over brunch<\/a>, al fresco cocktails<\/a>, or your morning brew<\/a>, read on for my personal favourite dog-friendly cafes and restaurants in Hong Kong (including one that\u2019s just<\/em> opened!).<\/p>\n

Dog-friendly or not, An Choi is one of my go-to Vietnamese restaurants in Hong Kong<\/a>. Every dish and drink is a pleasant surprise. No wonder it\u2019s Michelin Guide-recommended! Plus, this buzzy eatery is centrally located in Sheung Wan<\/a>, making it an easily accessible joint for you and your pets.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re adventurous, try the fish sauce espresso martini (it\u2019s oddly tasty!). I adore the vibrant interior \u2013 it makes dining here an absolute joy. And my dog\u2019s just as happy, thanks to the warm servers who never forget his water bowl on hot days.<\/p>\n

2. Coffeelin<\/h3>\n

Happy Valley is one of my favourite dog-friendly neighbourhoods in Hong Kong, because there\u2019s no shortage of welcoming outlets. Among them, Coffeelin is a stand-out. Their excellent coffee and simple dishes (think eggs benny, pastas, and fresh salads) pair perfectly with their genuinely warm service \u2013 the team even keeps dog treats behind the counter! It\u2019s the kind of place where regulars greet each other by name, yet newcomers still feel right at home. A perfect pit stop if you\u2019re exploring the area.<\/p>\n

3. Danji<\/h3>\n

Tucked away on Sun Street in Wan Chai<\/a>, Danji is a quiet escape from the neighbourhood\u2019s hustle. This charming bistro serves delicious Korean fare and an impressive line-up of boozy drinks (their soju punches go down way too easily!). But what makes Danji special is the warm, attentive service. The staff always dote on my dog, whether I\u2019m there for a celebration<\/a> or just a relaxed meal.<\/p>\n

4. Soul Fresh<\/h3>\n

Like Happy Valley, Tai Ping Shan is a fantastic dog-walking neighbourhood, packed with pet-friendly cafes and restaurants. While great coffee<\/a> abounds, Soul Fresh steals my heart with its next-level hospitality. Staff even dog-sit for regulars, so expect plenty of furiends when you visit! The laid-back, semi-self-serve format here feels homely and casual \u2013 simply claim a picnic chair on the pavement, and camp out with your sips and bites. Finally, look out for the owner, Priscilla \u2013 she sketches the cuuutest portraits of furry guests!<\/p>\n

5. Ruam<\/h3>\n

Perched above the buzzing Ship Street, Ruam is a tropical haven enveloped in lush greenery. This dog-friendly restaurant stands apart from the many Thai restaurants in Hong Kong<\/a> with its soul-warming, homemade flavours. Pro tip: Reserve an outdoor table (the only pet-friendly section) where the welcoming staff might introduce you to their resident animal lover. Keep an eye out for the team member whose mini dog, big cat, and two elderly birds share an unlikely friendship!<\/p>\n

6. Groa by Nute<\/h3>\n

New coastal dining destination in the urban fringe<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

With its verdant gardens and gorgeous colonial-style architecture, The Repulse Bay Arcade is always worth visiting \u2013 but I argue there\u2019s no better time than now, thanks to a wave of fresh shopping and dining experiences. Among them, Groa is a beautiful guesthouse that\u2019ll welcome you and your furbabies with open arms. The breezy coastal eatery offers a rotational menu of refined plates and low-intervention wines from brunch through dinner. Find me swaying to the tunes while leisurely sipping and savouring every bite.<\/p>\n
