As for ceramic products, Loveramics offers a fantastic array of cups and plates with stunning designs that we\u2019re obsessed with. Its founder, William Lee, is just as bright and fun as the products that he creates through his ceramics brand. We sat down with the local entrepreneur to discuss the philosophy behind the products and his passion for great coffee and coffee making.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was when William Lee first got married and was moving into a home with his new wife that the pair realised that there were no contemporary tableware brands that fell within their price point. As a couple who love to cook and entertain for their friends and family, they decided to embark on a journey to fill this gap in the market, and so Loveramics was born.<\/p>\n

Now, the brand has two stores in Hong Kong where customers can go to experience the products firsthand, and since 2015, Loveramics has created the official cups for the World Latte Art Championships. Here, William tells us more about the story behind his successful brand.<\/p>\n

Tell us a little about the design aesthetic of the brand and what you produce.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

William Lee says the brand is all about products for those with an international lifestyle<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Loveramics products are designed for everyday eats for the modern, international lifestyle. Usually, they are colourful and contemporary in both form and function.<\/p>\n

We focus on anything you eat and drink with, mostly in porcelain. We have expanded into glass, wood, marble and metals over the years, but still mainly create table\/kitchen objects which interact with food.<\/p>\n

Who designs the products for Loveramics?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Our\u00a0designer from London, Simon Stevens designs 90 per cent of our collections. He is a veteran in ceramics and is very experienced, with a unique style that helps give the brand an edge.<\/p>\n

We know they are like your children, but what’s your personal favourite when it comes to products from the brand?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

I use them all on daily basis so it’s a hard one! I would say the professional coffee cups because you can see them being used in so many cafes and restaurants, and every time I walk into a place that uses them, I feel really happy.<\/p>\n

What was the most difficult part of getting your business off the ground in Hong Kong?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In the beginning, we had to work hard to collaborate with the\u00a0right people. We started in 2009, and this was before the idea of ‘startups’ was trendy, so most people preferred the corporate life. The new generation is more creative and are more artistic these days.<\/p>\n

Do you have a particular coffee moment that stands out?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

I would say last year at the World Latte Art Championship. We held an after party and 400-500 people showed up, including some famous peeps from the industry. At that time, I was wowed!<\/p>\n

What are your coffee recommendations for Hong Kong?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Hidden Gem:\u00a0<\/strong>Accro in Yuen Long. Super far away from downtown, it seems like it would be an impossible location to have great coffee, but it is right there!<\/div>\n
