VIVE Cake Boutique in Central is like a physical realisation of the dreamiest Instagram page, plus you can eat all the cake!
While some people are all about the savoury life – burgers in Hong Kong, the best dim sum, Mexican restaurants… mmm… – there are others who were just born to eat sweet! Sitting pretty in Central, VIVE Cake Boutique creates unique cakes that just scream out to be put on Instagram. We headed over to their bakery to see how the magic happens.

Founded by Vivien Lau in 2014, cake aficionados may have visited the original Lee Tung Avenue store, but the new VIVE cake boutique in Central is something else!
Located inside H Queen’s, the feminine, pastel pink interior is an Instagram lovers dream, and of course the wonderful colours carry on into signature cakes, including Uni-Cone cakes and a selection of beautiful mirror glazed sweet treats, cupcakes and macarons. Wash them down with a matcha or sweet potato latte and you will be good to go.
Order cakes for special occasions
But the most impressive cakes are definitely the handmade creations designed for special occasions. We are in love with Galaxy cake (see video above!) and of course we love the yellow Bee Happy cake, made from Manuka Honey, Butterfly Pea Flower and vanilla sponge cake, it features bees and hexagonal panels that look a little familiar…
Best of all, VIVE creates new designs for all holidays and seasons, so there’s always something new (and cute!) to look at and then swiftly devour.
