In partnership with luxury jeweller K.S. Sze & Sons, Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong is delighted to introduce the Journey to Venus Afternoon Tea where guests will receive a HKD 2,000 cash voucher to redeem at their boutique from 1 until 30 November 2020.
K.S. Sze & Sons is a generational family business that has taken up residence at Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong since the hotel first opened in 1963. Having retained the same iconic address in the heart of Central for 57 years, the luxury jeweller is renowned for its exquisite craftsmanship and bespoke one-of-a-kind pieces. Inheriting his father’s legacy, Dr. Nien Dak Sze grew up in the world of fine jewellery but found a passion for the Earth and Planetary Sciences with a specific interest in Venus, which coincidentally his company is named after in Chinese.
In celebration of the collaboration, Executive Pastry Chef Christophe Sapy has created a unique afternoon tea that showcases the jewellery brand’s delicate craftsmanship and the hotel’s culinary excellence. The Journey to Venus Afternoon Tea is housed within an orb to emulate the planet and features an assortment of delicate desserts including the exclusive Galaxy Opera Cake, Venus Milk Ganache with Mandarin Orange, Meteor Rock with Black Sesame and Pistachio, Silver Macaron with Chestnut and Vanilla as well as Financier with Coffee and Hazelnut. For savoury bites, guests can enjoy a range of refined sandwiches and pastries where highlighted ingredients include caviar, foie gras mousse and Parma ham. The experience is complete with a selection of freshly baked scones, accompanied by Mandarin Oriental’s famous rose petal jam and Devon clotted cream.
Every guest who orders this exclusive afternoon tea will receive a complimentary cash voucher valued at HKD 2,000 applicable for any purchase at K.S. Sze & Sons boutique located on the mezzanine floor of the hotel within the month of November 2020.
Adjacent to K.S. Sze & Sons boutique is Clipper Lounge where the limited-edition Journey to Venus Afternoon Tea will be available for only 20 sets daily and priced at HKD 888* per set for two persons or HKD 1,288* per set including two glasses of Moët & Chandon Brut Impérial or Impérial Rosé NV.
