Coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee... coffee - nuff said
Rain or shine, we always have time for certain things (like karaoke bars, dating apps and Mexican restaurants) – do you feel us? Another 24/7-365 passion for us is caffeine–black gold–and these new cafes in Hong Kong are keeping us wired through July. Time to get your fix!
New cafes in Hong Kong for July
Lifetastic – New stores: TST + Tsuen Wan
Start your day off right by paying a visit to Lifetastic Coffee Shop. Just writing Lifetastic radiates joy and optimism, so you’ll be thrilled to hear that two more shops have opened for you to get your coffee and cake on! The new stores are situated in Tsim Sha Tsui and Tsuen Wan.
Brought across from Australia, Lifetastic offers specialty coffee and fresh handmade cakes free from artificial flavors, colouring or preservatives. Go check out the summer special Marshmallow Fun – you’ll thank us later.

Gather your taste buds and head towards Shek Tong Tsui if you’re looking for new cafes in Hong Kong this month. Nestled in the district is the brand new store from one of our favourite tea houses in Hong Kong. Their beautifully-crafted teas pack some serious flavor with each sip providing that calming sensation, which is sorely missed in the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong.
To top it all off, it’s wonderfully packaged in handcrafted teaware that’s as pleasing to the eye as the tea is to the tongue. Escape the free-flow craze and tap into Hong Kong’s rich culture by enjoying one of its favourite pastimes.
Plantation, 18 Po Tuck Street, Shek Tong Tsui, Hong Kong, p. 3482 2660, 上環保德街18號
This is an oldie, but a goodie, if you’re exploring the east side of Hong Kong then keep an eye out for the newest member of the Espresso Alchemy family. Lying in the shadow of Taikoo Place, you’ll find them neatly tucked away into the side street with its charming minimalist rustic aesthetic.
Feeling the effects of a heavy Saturday night? Grab yourself a table and enjoy the big breakfast or the more eloquent salmon salad, the ingredients are of the highest quality and you’d be far-fetched finding a better breakfast for its price.

Porch Coffee Bar
A great coffee experience isn’t all beans and roasting. Your surroundings, as you take your first sip, is just as important. Even though the airy minimalist coffee houses are pretty, they are the status quo, and sometimes it’s good to have a change of scenery – cue Porch Coffee Bar.
Enjoy your weekend brew in the company of an American symbol. Not Springsteen, I wish it was Springsteen, but Harley Davidson. Contrary to all other coffee houses in Hong Kong, Porch Coffee take a different approach and we love it. Sadly no Bruce, but as well as being cool enough to have a Harley Davidson, their passion for sourcing the best coffee translates very nicely to the mug in front of you.

Found in one of Hong Kong’s most charming and quaint neighborhoods, we are very big fans of this coffee shop. One of the oldest coffee shops in Hong Kong, it’s surrounded by the rare untouched vintage Hong Kong of old and is conveniently placed at the mid point of a towering staircase. A well-deserved reward for anyone looking to treat themselves after burning some kcals.
The menu is inspired by local foodie celebs Caleb and Joshua Ng whose experiences in the UK and USA has helped nail classic comfort foods that’ll leave you melting in your chair.
