From Tsuen Wan to Sha Tin; Sai Kung to Mong Kok – new cafes have been popping up all over the place in the last few months, and we're rounding them up
While we go mad for Hong Kong tea houses, love bubble tea and can’t get enough liquidy goodness from our fave juice bars in Hong Kong, it’s coffee that really saves us. If you’re looking for new cafes in Hong Kong 2019 to check out in April, then you’ve come to the right place. Espresso yourself, Hong Kong!
New cafes in Hong Kong 2019 – April
On the hill coffee bar
This cool cafe is a must-visit for anyone who loves a good hand-drip coffee served up with good vibes. They also make some cracking cakes (the giant carrot cake was a definite winner) and the whole space is well designed, with a cute little outdoor nook too.
On the hill coffee bar, Shop 2, 435-439 Po Fai Building, Chatham Road North, To Kwa Wan, Hong Kong, 香港九龍土瓜灣漆咸道北435-439寶暉大廈2號鋪,
Little Break Coffee and Kitchen
So while this cafe isn’t new-new, it’s new for us, and we really enjoyed trying their tasty hojicha latte. They also serve a range of different food, from waffles to pasta, making it the perfect spot to visit in Lai Chi Kok.
Little Break Coffee and Kitchen, Shop G03, G/F, D2 Place, 9 Cheung Yee Street, Cheung Sha Wan, Kowloon, Hong Kong, p. 2742 2782, 九龍荔枝角長義街9號 D2 Place 地下G03號鋪

Another new-ish Kennedy Town must-visit is Infiniti C. The baristas here make incredible coffee, and we can’t get enough of their vegan cake selection. Word on the street is they will be opening another branch in May, so watch this space!

This new hang in Sai Kung is one of our fave new cafes in Hong Kong to try in 2019. We just love the cosy atmosphere and friendly service here, which kind of takes you out of Hong Kong for a while. Enjoy a classic cup of coffee or try their green tea latte or infusion shots before tucking into their food menu. We are big fans of the mini vegetarian pies!

Another one of the new cafes in Hong Kong for 2019 that’s opened up inside The Mills complex is Retold. The brand hopes to put the emphasis on great coffee, and serves a range of pour over and espresso. Don’t miss out on trying some of their tasty cakes too.

Cheese tea anyone? If you’re over coffee, then you may want to try HEYTEA, Hong Kong’s first branch of the renowned Chinese brand. Located in Sha Tin, you can expect classic tea flavours from across the world made with fresh fruit, natural rock sugar and fresh cheese. Sample all the flavours, including: Cheezo Tea, In Season, Berry & Mango, Fruity Boom and more.
HEYTEA, Shop 408 L4 Phase I, New Town Plaza, Shatin, New Territories, Hong Kong, 沙田新城市廣場一座4樓408號鋪
Wanpo Tea Shop
Not exactly new, but having undergone a recent renovation, we think Wanpo Tea Shop deserves to be on our list of new cafes in Hong Kong for 2019. This store has serious Instagram game (you’ve probably seen it plastered across your feed), but besides that, they brew a mean bubble tea. Like HEYTEA above, they also make some cheese-infused brews, if you want to get on the cheesy bandwagon.
