New brunches in Hong Kong 2019: January
One of the most anticipated new brunches in Hong Kong for 2019, Fishsteria Waterside offers a wide range of breakfast classics that incorporate fresh and sustainably-sourced seafood, available from 11am to 4pm. The signature Fishsteria All Day Breakfast ($258) is packed with seafood like fresh crab omelette, grilled salmon and shrimp, and bunch of vegetables on the side. Some other exciting items include the indulgent Gnocchi Bolognese ($178) and Salmon Charcoal Burger (HK$138).

Bread & Beast
Local sandwich eatery Bread & Beast prides themselves on offering creative and artisanal sandwiches original to the city. Now launching a pet-friendly weekend brunch, their latest Beast Brunch menu features Kentucky San Burger ($148), Bourbon Caramel Banana Ricotta French Toast ($118), Chuhao Brisket Croissant ($158) and vegetarians’ favourite Buddha Bowl with cauliflower rice ($138). The menu is available on Saturdays from 10am to 3pm and Sundays from 10am to 4.30pm.

Speaking of new brunches in Hong Kong for 2019, you can’t miss out on the latest British establishment in Tai Kwun, Statement. The restaurant serves up traditional British food, including eggs, seafood platter, roasted British beef with Yorkshire pudding and a selection of British cheese and handmade Scottish oat biscuits. Brunch is available on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 11am to 3pm. Guests can choose either free-flow Veuve Cliquot Champagne, Sommelier’s choice of wine, Bloody Mary, Buck’s fizz and Espresso Martini for $558 per person or Ruinart, Blanc de Blancs Champagne for $688 per person.

Even though this isn’t specifically for brunch, it’s a fascinating lunch menu that’s definitely worth a mention. Fusing Asian and Western cultures, contemporary Chinese restaurant SHÈ delivers a contemporary dim sum menu that showcases handmade creations like Iberico Pork Siu Mai with Caviar ($52), Rose Gold Har Gao ($52), Stuffed Truffle Balls with Minced Meat and Mushrooms ($56) and Purple Lava Buns ($52) made with Japanese sweet purple potato. Located inside Lane Crawford in IFC, expect amazing harbour views and a stellar cocktail selection as well.

While this one may not be new, we think it deserves a mention for it’s consistency and overall ‘yum’ factor. Restaurant, bar and brewery Little Creatures has a lovely brunch menu that caters to both meat lovers, vegans and vegetarians. On Saturdays and Sundays, from 8am to 4pm – awesome opening hours – you can enjoy a decadent Chia Yogurt Bowl ($65), Hand-cut Fries with Truffle Mayo ($75), BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich ($140), different sorts of cheesy pizza ($120-130) and a bloody good Bloody Mary ($90)! P.S. they make really good coffee too.
