Coming to town on business and wanting to stay somewhere that offers wellness facilities that suit your needs? Our fitness guru Avelino Cortes has signed off on these great spots across the city
From exceptional yoga studios to CrossFit gyms and more and more independent fitness studios popping up across the city, it’s fair to say that Hong Kong is riding the fitness and wellness train right now. And as a big advocate of keeping things moving when you’re on the move, I’ve dug out these hotels with wellness programmes in Hong Kong, so you can run, stretch, and tai chi yourself, even when you’re outside of your hometown.
Hotels with wellness programmes in Hong Kong
There is a general feeling that travel is an obstacle to wellness – it’s dehydrates you, it takes you away from your weekly fitness regime and don’t even get me started on those mini-bars stocked with sweets and booze. But with the rise in all things well and good, the hotel industry is paying attention and enabling conscious travelers the ability to keep up with their at-home habits whilst on the road… and we’re not just talking about your basic hotel gym or standard spas either!
What are you waiting for… it’s time to stop, give your mind and body some rest, connect with your environment and get moving, no matter if you’re in town from abroad or if you’ve just checked in for a cheeky staycation in Hong Kong!
THE MIRA HONG KONG
With a Wellness Zone in place, The Mira Hong Kong aims to work off your stress and keep you in tip-top shape. Located in bustling Tsim Sha Tsui, their basement facilities, including a pool, spa and fitness centre, is a welcome respite from the crowds and pace outdoors. It’s definitely one of our fave hotels with wellness programmes in Hong Kong.
Wellness perks: Their dedicated Juice Bar offers a selection of freshly pressed juices, smoothies, protein shakes and a seamless transition from the pool to spa, where you could easily lose yourself for hours.
CORDIS HONG KONG

You may think that a hotel located in the heart of Mong Kok would be the last place you would find a wellness program, but Cordis Hong Kong is serious about your well-being. Their Health Club is impressive and includes a Group Exercise Studio where you can enjoy a “Fitness on Demand” system (one of the first in HK) that offers a variety of training videos; a Functional Training studio; a 24 hour gym; a rooftop swimming pool and the popular Chuan Spa.
Wellness perks: Aside from the hardware facilities, Cordis Hong Kong believes that a big part of wellness is connection. With the idea that connection brings more engagement with staff and hotel guests alike, they offer complimentary activities such as daily tai-chi classes, a Mong Kok market tour, self-guided art tours and wine tastings. With Cordis, being the latin term for ‘heart’, you know you’re in good hands!
KERRY HOTEL HONG KONG
Everyone has their different criteria for what makes a hotel top notch. Aside from what brand of Champagne they serve in the club lounge, one of mine is the quality of the gym and fitness facilities. Let’s face it, hotel gyms are boring. But Base Camp Kerry Sports sets the standard high and should be the new benchmark to which other hotels aspire to.
Wellness perks: Kerry Hotel Hong Kong just opened a spa with a focus on ‘back to basics’ but I can’t stop gushing about their outstanding fitness offerings. Personal training and a variety of group classes ranging from HIIT to Spin to Yoga (on their outdoor terrace) and Run clubs means that there is more than enough to keep you moving and sweating! This is undoubtedly one of the top hotels with wellness programmes in Hong Kong – hands down.
THE MURRAY HONG KONG
This hotel du-jour is into holistic health and offers not only relaxing, de-stressing spa treatments but therapeutic remedies too. Your wellness journey at The Murray Hong Kong, can begin with a personal wellness & nutritional consultation and extend to tailored menus in-house and outdoor activities such as hikes and bootcamps. They’ve also just opened their stunning indoor pool!
Wellness perks: Finally, a re-stocked personal bar replacing all those sugary drinks & snacks with wholesome nutritious options!
THE LANDMARK MANDARIN ORIENTAL
The Oriental Spa has been a staple in Hong Kong’s wellness scene since it opened its doors and they have truly stepped up their game with recently upgraded wellness and fitness facilities, plus a partnership with with Joint Dynamics, offering a selection of classes. There are also a comprehensive schedule of yoga sessions, with specially allocated early mornings dedicated to self-practice at The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, so you won’t be disappointed.
Wellness perks: Their VIP Sanctuary Suite offers a specially designed half day retreat which includes a private pilates class, facial & massage and a meal from their organic spa menu. Also, the hotel has taken steps to reaffirm its sustainability goals in eradicating plastic water bottles. The fitness centre now serves complimentary in-house freshly filtered, purified Nordaq FRESH water from glass bottles and this will be extended to the Pilates Studio.
