As an alternative to government-funded universities, the Higher Diploma and Bachelor’s Degree programmes by Yew Chung College of Early Childhood Education offer students the opportunity to receive four professional licenses in ECE after graduation, making them qualified to work in local or international kindergartens, or other ECE institutions. The four licenses include Registered Kindergarten Teacher by Education Bureau, Child Care Worker, Child Care Supervisor, and Special Child Care Worker by Social Welfare Department.
Apart from the popular Special Education Needs (SEN) courses among different institutions in Hong Kong, YCCECE is a pioneer in Hong Kong which offers concentration in Infant & Toddler Education, offering a unique learning experience and professional knowledge to the students. YCCECE also equips students with relevant work experience through their extensive practicum and field work, such as overseas field trips and conferences, and capstone projects. Graduates will also have the exclusive opportunities in working at the kindergartens of Yew Chung or Yew Wah in Hong Kong and mainland China through the “Yew Chung/Yew Wah Teachers of Tomorrow Scheme”. Higher Diploma graduates will also be offered a full scholarship, allowing them to complete the Bachelor’s Degree programme while working simultaneously.
To address DSE graduates’ concern about career planning, trends and prospect in the ECE industry, and programmes and student life at YCCECE, the College has prepared a series of events, allowing interested students to understand more directly from the academic team and alumni:
