“Then and Now: A Dialogue” is a dynamic concert that fuses together contrasting elements under the theme, Union. Audiences are treated to 18 Variations on a Hu Pipe, with Gong Linna as the star vocalist. This piece marries a classical rendition of two traditional Chinese instruments, qin and zheng, with contemporary orchestral arrangements. Expect a dialogue between the Chinese yangqin and the Turkish kanun, as well as a showcase of Cantonese opera and jazz.
