Cello enthusiasts, here comes the long-awaited recital debut of Sol Gabetta!
As one of the world’s most sought-after cellists, Sol Gabetta’s bravura sound, flawless technique, and charismatic virtuosity have earned her prestigious awards, including the European Culture Prize, awarded to individuals and institutions with vision and creativity who have made a valuable contribution to the cultural life in Europe. Gabetta is a frequent collaborator with the world’s best orchestras, including residencies at Radio France, Staatskapelle Dresden, and Bamberg Symphony. She has also received a Grammy nomination, multiple Opus Klassik Awards, Echo Klassik awards, the Herbert von Karajan Prize at Salzburg Easter Festival, and Gramophone Young Artist of the Year.
In her only Hong Kong performance, Sol Gabetta partners with Hong Kong’s own Van Cliburn finalist, Rachel Cheung, for a captivating programme of cello works by Schumann, Mendelssohn, and Shostakovich.
