Hosted by local mental health charity, Mind HK, and Mindset Hong Kong, a charity sponsored by Jardine Matheson Group, “Our Mental Health Stories: Speaking Up Against Stigma” is the first event of its kind featuring a series of personal stories on stigma and mental health from Mind HK’s ambassadors. It is part of Mind HK’s “More Than a Label” anti-stigma campaign.
Available in English and Cantonese with over ten story-sharing sessions, a diverse range of content relating to mental health will be covered during the event. Highlighted topics include: lived experience stories of stigma; conversations with loved ones on having experienced a mental health challenge together; what it’s like to be living in recovery from depression, anxiety, and an eating disorder; managing a mental health diagnosis as a neurodivergent person; among many others.
Mind HK hope to use these real-life stories and conversations to showcase, encourage, and empower more conversations and actions around mental health. Ultimately, lowering the stigma against those suffering from mental health conditions and developing more accurate and positive attitudes toward mental health within Hong Kong society.
The event will be free to the public, and you can choose to sign up for any or all topics that you are interested in.
