Want to know how to put up a shelter in an emergency? We will share and teach different knots for different practical purposes as well as share wild tea ceremony & Council practice.
Even if you never find yourself in a situation where you have to string up a tarp to shelter from the rain, or build a makeshift emergency shelter from the only available resources around you.. the skills in putting up a shelter can translate to so many areas of our life.
The knots that you will learn on this workshop can be used for daily activities including handy quick release knots, tension knots and non slip knots. These are great and handy to use if you have childer and want to help build shelters and dens for them to play in.
If you joined on our earlier rope and cordage making workshop, you can even bring your rope along to use it for your shelter!
These skills can really elevate your camping and outdoor experiences, helping you feel more certain and confident in yourself and your creativity when it comes to identifying and building sheltered spaces!
This workshop is suitable for beginners and all materials are provided for. The workshop will be held outdoors, under the shade of trees by a riverside. In the event of heavy rain, even better! We will definitley get a chance to put up a tarp and have lots of practice!
The Call of the Wild series offers 10 weeks of workshops on Earth Skills and Nature Connection Guidance. Each week we offer a different focus, with participants opting to join packages of 5 weeks or 10 weeks, with a limited number of drop in sessions available for one off attendees.
