The ‘Colours of Humanity’ Art Prize 2023 is now welcoming submissions until 25 September. This year’s theme, ‘Our Changing World,’ calls on artists to reflect on the evolving global landscape, spanning shifts in society, culture, environment and technology and their impact on people with diverse backgrounds, circumstances and aspirations.
Presented by Justice Centre Hong Kong and the European Union Office to Hong Kong and Macao, and supported by the Goethe-Institut Hongkong, the Art Prize encourages artistic expression that embraces Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
Selected artworks will be displayed at the Goethe-Gallery and Black Box Studio at the Goethe-Institut Hongkong from 30 November 2023 to 14 January 2024.
The main ‘Colours of Humanity’ Award will honour the artwork that best encapsulates the ‘Our Changing World’ theme. Judged by a panel of esteemed judges from Hong Kong’s art scene, the award comes with a cash prize of HK$30,000. The ‘Justice Centre Choice Award’ by Justice Centre Hong Kong will be presented to an artwork that best reflects the organisation’s mission to advance refugee protection, and the ‘InkluVision Award’ supported by the Goethe-Institut Hongkong will be presented to an artwork that advocates an inclusive society without limitations. Artists from all backgrounds are invited to interpret the theme widely, focusing on the constant transformations surrounding us.
