Clockenflap, Hong Kong’s biggest international outdoor music and arts festival, announced the news that fans have been waiting to hear: the legendary event is returning to Central Harbourfront in March 2023. Following a three-year hiatus, the much-loved festival is 100% confirmed to take place from Friday 3 to Sunday 5 March 2023.
Reclaiming its place as one of the most globally renowned events on Hong Kong’s cultural calendar, Clockenflap will return with the full, world-class festival experience that music fans in the city have come to know and love: a spectacular outdoor environment featuring multiple stages; a tempting array of irresistible F&B outlets; and an eclectic lineup of must-see international, regional and local acts. The event will also be free standing, with festivalgoers able to move easily and without restriction between the various stages and attractions throughout the weekend.
The March 2023 event will mark the 12th edition of Clockenflap, and the festival’s return will be a reason to celebrate for lovers of live music and arts in Hong Kong and across the region. Launched at Cyberport in 2008, before moving to the West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade in 2011 and then Central Harbourfront in 2016, Clockenflap has forged an unparalleled reputation for creating a friendly, fun and cutting-edge festival experience, and its absence has been keenly felt by music fans in the city over the past four years.
Clockenflap is also known for embracing genres from across the musical spectrum, and its world-class lineup has won plaudits all around the world.
Clockenflap is known for bringing the world’s finest acts to the city, and this year is no different, with three exclusive HK-only performances just added. US Hip-hop legends Wu-Tang Clan (Sun) will be jetting in to play Hong Kong for the first time, while the band behind global smashes such as Lovefool, Erase/Rewind and My Favourite Game, The Cardigans (Sat) will finally make their long-awaited Hong Kong debut. London-based indie-rock innovators Bombay Bicycle Club (Sun) make their triumphant return to Clockenflap 12 years after headlining the festival in 2011 and ahead of their new album. All three acts are coming to Asia to play Clockenflap exclusively. They join British rock icons Arctic Monkeys (Fri), French synth-rockers Phoenix (Fri), Norwegian folk-pop duo Kings of Convenience (Sat) and the German electronic supergroup Moderat (Sun), bringing the total number of acts performing across the three days to more than 100.
