English Playgroups in Hong Kong we’ve tried and tested
1. Baumhaus
With branches in Wan Chai and TST, Baumhaus offers some of the most popular English playgroups in Hong Kong, and for good reason. The company embraces a holistic approach to learning through creative arts, for children aged 0-6 years-old. Kindermusik classes incorporate movement and music while fostering a sense of creativity and individuality. Older kids will love the new DramaLab classes that blend performance with play and improvisation. Best of all, they also offer a free trial class so that you can see how it all works.
Baumhaus has branches across Hong Kong.
2. St. John’s Cathedral Playgroup
This centrally-located playgroup is all about building community, existing as much for parents as for the littlies. Children can enjoy an open space to explore and a range of toys, while parents can socialise and swap notes. Ages 0-2 are welcome every Thursday from 2:30-4:30pm at the Fanny Li Hall of the cathedral, and the charge is just $20/donation.

3. My Gym
This American-born company has branches in both Hong Kong Island and Kowloon, making it a popular choice for many parents. Kids from 6 months to 5 years can enjoy a range of parent participation and independent classes here, with a focus on movement and gymnastics. Your child can learn fine motor skills and develop social skills as they have a fun time using a selection of equipment.

4. City Kids
At City Kids, children aged 10 months to 5.5 years are encouraged to learn and explore at their own pace. The Little Stars programme offers free play classes for little ones up to 3 years (including indoor and outdoor equipment and circle time.) There’s also a pre-school where older kids can enjoy their first independent school time with the assistance of excellent teachers in a safe and fun environment.
