Raise your hand if you haven’t been travelling simply because you were dreading the compulsory quarantine. Yep, that’d be us. But as the city finally reopens its borders (albeit gradually), and hotel quarantine times are greatly reduced to just three days, it’s prime time to quench our wanderlust! Plus, there’s a fairly comprehensive list of designated quarantine hotels in Hong Kong for you to choose from. Whether you’re travelling on a budget, or willing to splurge for a nice (long-ish) staycay while you’re at it, below are the top quarantine hotels in Hong Kong that’ll keep you sane and satisfied.
Note: This list has been updated according to the eighth cycle of designated quarantine hotels (valid until 31 October 2022). Also, the hotels on this list are ordered according to the lowest available price per person per night. Prices are in HKD.

Before we dive into the list, here are a few tips for staying at quarantine hotels in Hong Kong. You’re welcome! 😉
- You can only open windows in certain rooms in certain hotels – check with the hotels beforehand if you prefer one or the other.
- Keep your room clean and smelling fresh by bringing a room diffuser, wet wipes, and even a handheld vacuum cleaner.
- Most hotels have connecting rooms, though they’re usually subject to availability. So, be sure to enquire with your hotel if you’re staying in a group.
- As most hotels use disposable cutlery for the sake of hygiene, feel free to bring your own reusable ones – the planet will thank you!
- If you can’t deal with food being lukewarm, bring your own mini microwave or hot plate to reheat your meals. Don’t worry, you can shop online and most likely get the goods delivered to your room, too, in case you need anything last minute. That said, do heed the hotel regulations regarding cooking in your room – we certainly don’t want to start any fires!
- Adaptors, HDMI cables, and extension cords will come in handy. Plan in advance!
- Check the Government’s website for official updates regarding inbound travel and designated quarantine hotels in Hong Kong; the booking status of each hotel is also available here.
- We know it’s difficult to book ahead due to unpredictable changes in flight schedules (ugh), but we’d still advise you to book ahead, because these hotels are popular! Just take note of your hotel’s policies regarding refunds and cancellations.

Best quarantine hotels in Hong Kong
1. Ovolo Southside
Once a warehouse, Ovolo Southside is the epitome of industrial chic, with traditional and contemporary elements in its architecture. We love how this luxury boutique hotel presents its quarantine package as the unique Hong Kong Quarantine Concierge scheme: aside from a full board experience, the friendly concierge will be as helpful as a “human Alexa” and will take care of your needs from the outside world. What’s more is that there’s a fully stocked mini bar upon arrival (for all rooms except Mini Rooms), a goodie bag (containing toiletries and reusable cutlery, which are actually pretty useful), an Apple TV, and an actual Alexa in your room.
Food: Standard, vegetarian, vegan/low-carb, gluten-free options, and more – guaranteeing at least four choices per day.
In-room fitness gear: Yoga mat, gliders, and resistance bands (the latter two not available in Mini Rooms). You can purchase larger equipment online, but you must inform the hotel beforehand, so that they can move it in (there may be an extra fee, though!)

Pentahotel Kowloon has two quarantine packages, with the main differences being the room itself and the meal plan. For the Penta Standard Quarantine Package, you’ll get to stay in the comfy Penta Standard Room. You can choose from six meal plans on the Balanced Eats, where all the dishes are MSG-free and prepared by the hotel’s own kitchen team. As for the Penta Plus Quarantine Package, you’ll get to stay in the slightly larger, more stylish Penta Plus Room. It comes with an elevated Eat Well menu (which features more options), plus a hearty house-made soup with your meal. Yum!

While Sheraton Hong Kong in TST has been taken off the list of designated quarantine hotels in Hong Kong, Four Points by Sheraton Hong Kong, Tung Chung is also an excellent choice and a great value for money. Its relatively remote location on Lantau shouldn’t be a problem, really, unless you’re trying to order in food from the city centre. And with the hotel’s comfortably designed rooms and premium beddings, you’ll be able to rest easy throughout your stay. The best part about Four Points by Sheraton is that its Ocean View Rooms and Suites provide an unobstructed view of the sea – and the beautiful sunset, too!
Food: Daily full-board meals with Asian and Western set menus, along with vegetarian options. We don’t mean to spoil the surprise for you, but we hear that the hotel dishes out treats every Friday…!

5. Nina Hotel Island South
While Nina Hotel Island South may be a little remote compared to some other hotels on this list, it’s bounded by the sea and has generously sized suites – perfect for a getaway. Some rooms even have balconies or full-length terraces! You can also choose your views, whether it’s south towards Deepwater Bay and Aberdeen, or north towards the greenery of The Peak. And, we love that Nina Hotel Island South has a friendly robot, Genie, on its team. At the request of families, he can deliver meals to your door, giving your kids a cute surprise!
Food: Set menus – standard, vegetarian, halal, healthy options, and a kids’ menu. For a la carte, you can order from the room service menu for an additional charge.

Food: We heard that some people didn’t like the breakfast, but loved the lunch and dinner options, which included steak and lobster. Vegetarian options are available.

Does The Landmark Mandarin Oriental need much introduction, really? One of the most prestigious luxury hotels in the world, you can be assured that you get what you pay for here – though yes, it is spenny. The quarantine package here includes a full board meal arrangement; all rooms contain a sunken hourglass bathtub, an ample walk-in closet, vanity units with mirror TV, and plenty other luxurious amenities. One thing to bear in mind is that this hotel does not allow food deliveries from outside, but we’ve heard that they’re basically unnecessary at the MO, because the food is simply amazing. So cheers to that!
