You don't have to travel all the way to Seoul to enjoy K-BBQ, just check out our guide to the best Korean restaurants in Hong Kong
While the streets of Hong Kong are filled with great Italian restaurants, fine French cuisine and excellent Japanese joints, it can be more difficult to find really good Korean food in The 852. With five years of living in South Korea under my belt, I feel like I’m in a pretty good position to help navigate you towards the best bibimbap and away from terrible tteokbokki, so here’s our list of best Korean restaurants in Hong Kong.
Mimi2Go

I knew this place was going to be good when the first time I ordered delivery they had drawn love hearts next to the names of each dish on the boxes – 사랑해요! Since that first delicious taste, Mimi2Go has been on my regular rotation, thanks to its excellent and authentic-tasting food, plus the fact they have loads of vegetarian dishes (they even make vegan kimchi!) Owned by a Korean expat, this is the place to come for all those hearty staples: gimbap, tteokbokki, kimchi jeon etc, that are made with love and served with a smile and a side of soju.
Find out why Mimi2Go also made it into our list of best 20 meals we ate in 2018.

Ssal Bori Sal

Whether you’re in the mood for bibimbap, Korean-style Ramen or bulgogi, you’ll find a pretty good version at Ssal Bori Sal in TST. Our picks? While the meat eaters love the Baby KFC, I recommend the vegetable japchae and the cheese kimchi fried (best washed down with some makkegoli on a rainy day.) P.S. they even make a makkegoli ice cream which is one of the few Korean fusions I can condone.

Kelly’s Cape Bop

What’s not to love about hearty gimbap lunch boxes made with fresh ingredients and served with a side of tteokbokki, fried chicken or salad. Don’t miss the vegetarian bibimbap or seaweed egg rolls here. If you close your eyes, you’ll almost think you’re in a Gimbap Nara in Korea.
Kelly’s Cape Bop, 55-61 Johnston Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong, p. 6304 8867
Mr Korean BBQ
If you’re on the hunt for Korean BBQ, then Mr Korean BBQ in TST is a good option. Meat lovers will enjoy the selection of cuts available here, starting from around $150, while veggies can order a variety of vegetables to grill on the hot plate, alongside bibimbap, noodles and pancakes. Top it all off with unlimited banchan and some SoMak, and you’ll be away laughing in no time.

K-Roll

With three branches across Hong Kong, K-Roll has made a name for itself as a great option when you’re craving Korean for lunch. Bringing the humble to gimbap (Korean-style sushi) to Hong Kong, this chain was started when a Korean expat realised her daughter’s friends preferred eating her lunch to their own. Enjoy hearty portions of classic flavours here or try the spicy tofu Korrito (so good!) We are pleased to also endorse their japchae, tteokbokki and kimchi pancake.
