1. Bakehouse

Established by Pastry Chef and Baker Grégoire Michaud, Bakehouse offers a wide range of homemade breads, pastries and baked goods. Look out for their fresh baps, baguettes and gorgeous danishes!
Bakehouse has locations in Wan Chai and Central.
2. Maison Eric Kayser
Originating from France, Maison Eric Kayser produces some of the most delectable bread in Hong Kong. While we love its crisp baguettes, we also go mad for the olive ciabatta and the fig bread they make – so soft and delicious! Using traditional baking techniques blended with contemporary flavours, it’s no wonder the shop is always pumping.
Maison Eric Kayser has multiple locations in Hong Kong.
3. Pane e Latte

For a taste of Italian baked goodness, head to Pane e Latte in Stanley and you’ll not fall short of choices. Here you’ll find the freshest sourdoughs, baguettes, and flavoured croissants. Also, their Focaccia Pugliese leaves us speechless with how soft it is!
Pane e Latte, G/F, U-c Court, 25 Stanley Market Road, Stanley, Hong Kong, p. 2337 7221
4. Dang Wen Li by Dominique Ansel
Chef Dominique’s capsule collection is exclusive to Hong Kong and pays homage to the local culture with a creative twist. Love the chestnuts sold by Hong Kong’s street hawkers? Then wait till you get a bite of the Chestnut Madeleines, filled with rich whisky chestnut cream. Grew up with Yakult shots? Dang Wen Li serves a quirky cookie shaped just like the famous Japanese drink, but it’s filled with Hong Kong style milk tea!
Dang Wen Li by Dominique Ansel has multiple locations in Hong Kong.
5. Plumcot
This Tai Hang bakery was set up by husband-and-wife-duo, Camille Moënne-Loccoz and Dominique Yau. Together they specialise in bringing Parisien flavours to Hong Kong. The artisanal pastries and breads are made using directly imported ingredients from France and, boy, will they be a testament to your indecisiveness! Be sure to try the almond croissant and the brioche in their namesake flavour— Plumcot (plum and apricot). Drop by the store on the weekend, when they offer a larger selection of pastries—as if it wasn’t hard enough to choose already! Also, for the adventurous eaters, we dare you to try a scoop of ice cream in unusual flavours such as tofu, blue cheese, and toasted baguette!
Plumcot, G/F, 10A Sun Chun Street, Tai Hang, Hong Kong, closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
6. Proof

Gorgeous freshly made bread in Happy Valley, Proof cranks out a selection of yummy treats on a daily basis. We love the fact that they use no artificial ingredients during the breadmaking process, and you can really taste this in the results. Our vote here goes to the sundried tomato bagels and the sourdough loaves – just bring us the avocado, and we’re good for the weekend!

7. Levain Bakery

Levain has been making its own version of European artisanal bread in Hong Kong for almost a decade. The bakery uses high quality ingredients in its products, meaning that the bread is free from artificial flavours and preservatives. Levain offers a number of vegan and gluten-free options too, which we can really support. We recommend the baguettes!
