MUSO PENTROOMS<\/strong> – Named after the largest species of bamboo, the Muso Pentrooms [61\u201372 square meters]\u00a0offer a\u00a0main bedroom accommodating two people, with a\u00a0mezzanine extending the room\u2019s capacity by an additional one or two people\u00a0–\u00a0ideal for families or friends traveling together. Muso Pentrooms feature a large circular open-air bathroom, whilst the terrace and garden provide a comfortable private outdoor space that extends beyond the bedroom.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

ULIN PAVILIONS<\/strong> – The Ulin Pavilions [84 square meters]\u00a0showcase wooden floors and walls, all built using regenerated ironwood from the old pontoons and ingenious decks of Borneo which give them natural, yet contemporary look with a rustic edge. Wooden sliding doors open up the room\u00a0onto the terraces with wide teak wood shutters bringing in\u00a0the sea breeze.\u00a0Each pavilion features a spacious bathroom with a beautiful, double vanity copper-lined sink carved from solid repurposed merbau bridge rafters. Natural stone from the island of Sumba form the walls of the bathroom.\u00a0Traditional alang alang grass roofing protects the outside, whilst hand-woven Ajiro Rattan adorns interior ceilings, highlighting indigenous craftsmanship from local weavers in the Kapuas region of Borneo.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

YESTERDAY AND TOMORROW: \u00a0SUSTAINABLE SOUL<\/h3>\n

Suarga is the brainchild [we would call it passion project] of a family who used to travel to Bali regularly to rejuvenate from the ‘real world’, eventually moving here\u00a0permanently. Recognising the need to care and nurture the balance between age-old values and modern luxury\u00a0in an exceptional environment, Suarga Padang Padang is built upon the three pillars of sustainability: environmental, social, and economical.<\/p>\n

The resort’s\u00a0natural building materials showcase\u00a0a lovely\u00a0marriage\u00a0of\u00a0nature and architecture. \u00a0They’ve used\u00a0sustainably sourced materials throughout the exterior construction and interiors, salvaged from all over\u00a0Indonesia and given new life at Suarga Padang Padang by Peppers.<\/p>\n

A registered applicant of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), the resort is predominantly built using recuperated wood from abandoned ironwood pontoons in Borneo, broken down teak houses, old factories, other FSC-certified materials, and bamboo [all pictured, above]. Locally sourced Bukit limestone was recuperated from the site\u2019s excavation work, lining the contour walls of the resort\u2019s gardens. The resort\u2019s domain walls, lobby, public areas and bathrooms are built from natural stone, hand-picked by natives in the hills of Sumba island.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Consciously adopting a low-footprint building concept, Suarga Padang Padang is partially built on stilts to promote natural airflow and to protect the natural flora and fauna. \u00a0Renewable energy, in combination with low energy consumption technology, has been applied to the lighting, air conditioning and all technological equipment.<\/p>\n
