Let’s be real, this is the island of cafes. Cafe-hopping makes it onto every Bali guide on the internet (including the ones we’ve written), because Bali grows and roasts some of the best coffee in the world.

The catch is that not every pretty cafe is actually built for co-working. Some have no plugs, some have dodgy wifi, and some are so packed you’ll never get a seat. There are even cafes that specifically state ‘no laptops allowed’.

So I’ve done the legwork, sorted the work-friendly Bali cafes from the merely photogenic, and grouped them by area so you can find one near you, wherever you’re based. I’ve included the coffee prices, opening hours and the aircon situation for each (trust me, it’s important with Bali’s balmy weather).

Why trust this guide?

Hi, I’m Erick, and I’m a digital nomad based in Sanur, Bali. Every cafe on this list is one I’ve trusted through a full working week, judged on the wifi, the aircon, the plugs, and whether you can nurse that iced americano for three hours without a staff member hovering. I’ve tried to keep it varied for every kind of digital nomad too, so if you’re an aircon freak like me or a work-with-a-view type, you’ll find your spot in this list.

Digital nomad friendly cafes in Bali at a glance

Fast, reliable wifi: Miel, Anomali, Blend
A dedicated work area: BWork, Granary, From Here, Expat. Barely a block goes by without a specialty roaster, a brunch spot or a laptop propped open somewhere. That density is the appeal: whatever you’re after (quiet focus, fast wifi or a wagyu burger), it’s within a five-minute ride. Here are the digital nomad cafes in Canggu I keep going back to:

1. Miel Specialty Coffee

A bright, plant-filled space in Batu Bolong with some of the fastest wifi in Canggu.

Fast wifi, good light and a wagyu burger worth breaking for, Miel Specialty Coffee gets the balance right.

Miel is where I’d go if I’ve got a deadline to catch and want to really focus. The wifi is quick and reliable (often among the fastest in Canggu, and I can vouch for that), and the brunch menu holds up if you’re settling in for a while. They do a really nice wagyu burger that I always order when I’m here, something delicious I can finish in minutes yet enough to fuel a full workday.

Good to know: They serve a rotating range of single origins, and each order comes with a little card telling you about the coffee you’re drinking.
Opening hours: Daily, 7am – 7pm
Price: Coffee starts from IDR 32,000++
Address: Jl. It’s more restaurant than coffee-shack, which means comfier seating and a quieter room to work in. For lunch, I really like their Salmon and Tuna Tartare, fresh and light, and it pairs perfectly with the fruity specialty coffee. They’ve got plenty of tables with decent plugs and strong wifi, but they can be quite busy during lunch time so plan your meeting around that or bring a good headset.

Good to know: 12 Urban is pet-friendly, so you might be lucky enough to share your office with a four-legged companion.
Opening hours: Daily, 8am – 12am
Price: Coffee starts from IDR 30,000++
Address: Jl. They open as early as 7am and don’t close until 1am, which makes them the ultimate pick for digital nomads. The building is two floors of high ceilings and warm wood, so there’s room to spread out and find a corner that suits your mood, be that a proper table for a laptop or one of the softer seats when you’re just reading through things. They do get busy around lunch and dinner, so the wifi can slow down a little, though I’ve never had a serious issue.

Coffee is the whole point here, since they roast their own Indonesian beans in house. There’s alfresco seating out front if you want the air, and an air-conditioned room inside, which is where I’d be. Kuta gets seriously hot and stuffy by midday, so having somewhere cool within walking distance of the beach is worth a lot. The menu has everything from smoothie bowls and wraps through to heavy breakfast plates, the portions are large, and the coffee is great too. The Benesari smoothie bowl is the one people rave about, and the pulled pork burger is the move if you’ve earned it.

Good to know: Like most places in Kuta, it sits on a narrow street, so a scooter is the easiest way in, and there’s dedicated parking for it when you arrive.
Opening hours: Daily, 7.30am – 11pm
Price: Coffee from around IDR 30,000++
Address: Jl.
