From expert coffee to gourmet brunches, Bali\u2019s best cafes have got it all. Located just off the main road to Uluwatu, Tanah Uluwatu Bakery & Grill is where lazy breakfasts turn into long lunches. It first drew us in with the scent of freshly baked artisanal breads and pastries, and its gorgeous Mediterranean-style interiors. But that’s just the beginning. Inside you’ll find a relaxed and welcoming ambiance, with plenty of nooks to settle into for a cosy brunch on a low-slung sofa, or spend a long and leisurely lunch dining outside in the backyard with your friends and your pooch…<\/p>\n

We love it because\u2026<\/strong> Tanah Uluwatu Bakery & Grill is all about comfort and community, with its name (\u201ctanah<\/em>\u201d meaning \u201cearth\u201d in Indonesian) reflecting its grounded, welcoming vibe. Picture this: the scent of freshly baked bread wafts through the air, the crackle of the grill sizzles in the background, and the chatter of diners fills each table, as if they\u2019ve just stepped into a close friend\u2019s kitchen. All of this is then set within a lofty, breezy space that overlooks forest-like greenery and an outdoor courtyard, framed by local stone, warm wood and nods to local craftsmanship.<\/p>\n

We tried\u2026<\/strong> the baked and<\/em> the grilled dishes, AKA the heart and soul of Tanah Uluwatu Bakery & Grill. For breakfast, we started with a freshly baked banana and walnut bread that paired perfectly with a hot flat white, before tucking into the croissant breakfast sandwich and the chunky avocado toast. Lunch called for more hearty plates: pillowy vegetarian gnocchi, organic grass-fed ribeye and hand-cut pappardelle with a lamb shank ragout. We even left enough space for the house-made gelato, and we’re so glad we did!<\/p>\n
