Three weeks ago, we\u00a0invited YOU<\/a>\u00a0to join us in supporting Peaks Foundation and embarking on an expedition to Mount Rinjani. The team has been formed and here are the 10\u00a0brave souls\u00a0lovely ladies (including one of our own) who will be heading to Lombok in May! \u00a0Meet the team and see how they think they’ll feel when they summit.<\/p>\n

#1 – Debbie<\/strong>
\nAbout her:\u00a0<\/strong>Born and raised in a peaceful seaside town Timaru in Kiwiland, Debbie is the youngest of three and the only girl in the family. Sports junkie (snowboarded through Chamoinx, sailed the Med, and survived the NYC marathon), travel addict, and fitness enthusiast are three ways we would describe this go-getter gal!
\nWhy she joined:<\/strong>\u00a0Since moving to Singapore and starting a family, she\u2019s been hankering after a re-invigorating adventure that gets her out of her comfort zone (and away from the mundane schedule in the banking industry!).<\/p>\n

#2 \u2013 Charlotte<\/strong>
\nAbout her:<\/strong>\u00a0Hailing from Northumberland, UK, Charlotte has crossed continents; spending her last eight years in Asia (Beijing, Hong Kong, and Singapore). She now calls our little red dot home and heads the Asian office of a global brand consultancy. You go girl!
\nWhy she joined:\u00a0<\/strong>She\u2019s always had a secret love for volcanoes. Give her the chance to add another volcano climb to her list\u00a0and\u00a0<\/i>support a worthy cause at the same time? She didn\u2019t need to think twice.<\/p>\n

#3 \u2013 Yvonne
\nAbout her:<\/strong>This Malaysian sweetheart, who grew up in Kuala Lumpur, has been living and working in Singapore for the last four years. When she\u2019s not clocking hours as an equity research analyst at Credit Suisse, she\u2019s off traveling the globe or enjoying a session of hot yoga.
\nWhy she joined:<\/strong>\u00a0Look beyond her seemingly serious exterior; Yvonne is all warm, soft, and fluffy inside. With the opportunity to contribute back to society and help a worthy cause, she signed up at once!<\/p>\n

\"Charlotte3\"<\/a><\/p>\n

#4 \u2013 Rosie<\/strong>
\nAbout her:<\/strong>\u00a0Believe us when we say she\u2019s a total smarty-pants (and an absolute Honey)! Armed with a Masters of Science in Geography, Rosie began writing for publications like Ethical Corporation, covering global business trends and issues. She\u2019s now National Plan Manager for Microsoft Singapore’s Corporate Citizenship Team as well as Consultant to WWF’s current palm oil project.
\nWhy she joined:<\/strong>\u00a0Firmly believing in the power of people to create lasting social and environmental change, she hopes to continue her volunteering efforts (the last was a three-month volunteering stint in the Bornean jungle \u2013 wow!) with this climb.<\/p>\n

#5 \u2013 Amandae<\/strong>
\nAbout her:\u00a0<\/strong>A history major turned professional in the finance industry, Amandae is one unconventional lady who dares to try. Her pleasures in life include yoga (she dreams of opening a yoga studio one day!), running, and the great outdoors. Ask her about her exciting solo trip to Annapurna Base Camp!
\nWhy she joined<\/strong>:\u00a0A firm believer in women and children\u2019s rights, Amandae hopes that this could be her chance to play an active role in contributing to the Indonesian women\u2019s community.
\n\"Rosie4\"<\/a><\/p>\n

#6 \u2013 Lisa<\/strong>
\nAbout her:<\/strong>\u00a0It\u2019s not everyday you meet a lawyer who believes so strongly in justice and fairness \u2013 especially when we think of all the lawyer jokes we\u2019ve come across. \u00a0With a burning passion for championing the rights of children and youth, Lisa spends her weekends with her class of 9 year olds in church, scouring the island for the best eggs benedict, and hanging out with her family and dog.
\nWhy she joined:<\/strong>\u00a0She strongly supports Peak Foundation\u2019s mission of empowering women around the world and giving everyone a chance to set and accomplish personal goals they never thought they could.<\/p>\n

#7 \u2013 Daphne<\/strong>
\nAbout her:<\/strong>\u00a0Blessed with the winning combination of a creative mind and excellent organisational skills, Daphne spends her days dreaming up (and executing) international integrated campaigns and events for lifestyle clients around the world. When she\u2019s not (having a blast) at work, this cool lady is always on the hunt for delish grub, getting crafty, or practicing yoga and ballet.
\nWhy she joined:<\/strong>\u00a0All she needed to hear were the words \u2018Lombok\u2019 and \u2018all-girls trekking team\u2019 and she wrote in to us, pronto!<\/p>\n

\"Lisa5\"<\/a><\/p>\n

#8 \u2013 Sue<\/strong>
\nAbout her:<\/strong>\u00a0Savvy Sue is a Brisbane native who left Down Under when she was 19 and she\u2019s been a global citizen ever since. This full-time global advertiser, and part-time backpacker, spent years living in London, Milan, and now calls sunny Singapore her new home.
\nWhy she joined:<\/strong>\u00a0Humbled and inspired by the generous hospitality she experienced during her travels, she has been highly motivated in both her corporate and personal life to help improve livelihoods and opportunities for women worldwide.<\/p>\n

#9 \u2013 Wan Yin<\/strong>
\nAbout her:<\/strong>\u00a0Fresh out of university, this Energizer bunny decided to opt out of the corporate rat race (despite<\/i>\u00a0the business management degree she\u2019s holding) and ended up bagging a writing position in one of her favourite publications. At the risk of sounding narcissistic, can we say, score! A huge music and sports junkie, she also loves food as much as life itself \u2013 which is why she\u2019s one of our main food writers!
\nWhy she joined:<\/strong>\u00a0When she heard about the Mount Rinjani expedition, Wan Yin practically jumped out of the chair, flailing her arms in excitement exclaiming that she would love to go (and naturally, no other member of the Honeycombers contended for her spot on the team!). \u00a0Not only is this a chance to contribute to Peak\u2019s Foundation\u2019s cause and engage in meaningful cultural exchange, she\u2019ll get to go trekking in Lombok like she\u2019s been planning to!<\/p>\n

#10- Clare<\/strong>
\nAbout her:<\/strong>\u00a0An accomplished F&B professional with 15 years of experience under her belt, Clare moved from Canada to Singapore and embarked on a career switch into the recruitment industry. This fun-loving, easy-going gal is also extremely adventurous and loves conoeing in Northern Ontario, sailing along the east coast of Canada, and trekking around Singapore’s national parks with her husband (awww). She has even recently completed Singapore’s Men Health Urbanathlon, whoa!
\nWhy she joined<\/strong>: Looking for a once-in-a-lifetime experience and the chance to bond with new friends, she didn’t need to think twice about signing up for the Lombok climb.<\/p>\n
