This Balinese favourite is made of \u201cnasi\u201d AKA rice, and a mix (\u201ccampur\u201d) of vegetables, proteins and Indonesia’s all-important chilli condiment, sambal<\/em>. We’re always on the hunt for our daily dose of Nasi Campur, and recently, our search took us to Merah Putih<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

It’s no secret that Merah Putih is Seminyak’s iconic fine dining destination<\/a> for high-end Indonesian cuisine. But what you might not know is that this Bali icon also whips up five delicious Nasi Campur variations for an elevated lunch. Yep, there are so many reasons to keep coming back to this island must-try, and getting a taste of Indonesia’s finest dishes is just one of them. So in true Merah Putih style, they’ve gone above and beyond with their variety of Nasi Campur, with five different options to choose from. First up is the famous Ayam Betutu, which features juicy chicken marinated in Balinese \u201cbase genep\u201d paste, wrapped in banana and betel leaves, then slow-cooked for five to six hours. Or the juicy Babi Panggang, AKA slow-roasted pork belly with Balinese paste and of course, crispy crackling, served with traditional vegetables and sambal matah. Completing the carnivorous lineup is the Sapi Balado; succulent beef cheek braised for hours in a West Sumatran spicy balado sauce.<\/p>\n

And for the non-meat eaters, Merah Putih has got you covered too. You can opt for the Jimbaran-style grilled barramundi that\u2019s packed with spices, or the vegetarian-friendly Sayur Pecel; a Javanese staple made with a mix of vegetables, tofu, tempe and peanut crackers.<\/p>\n
