can generally divide Sanur into two halves: the east side of Jalan Bypass Ngurah Rai, and the west side. The east is where tourists love to stay, as it\u2019s the beach side of the neighbourhood. This means that you\u2019ll be within walking distance of the shore, larger beachfront resorts, most of the top restaurants, Sindhu Night Market, boutiques and souvenir shops in Sanur. Meanwhile, the west side of Sanur is mostly occupied by local and expat residents living in Bali for a longer period of time.<\/p>\n<p>For this hotel guide, I&#8217;ve focused on the east half of Sanur. Step further in and you\u2019ll find the heart of this beachfront resort: The Village Square. This grassy courtyard is surrounded by Andaz\u2019s multiple restaurants and social hubs.<\/p>\n<p>And for when you want to hide away? The lush landscapes, ancient trees and lagoon pools are fringed by tropical foliage \u2013 I\u2019m talking \u201cTarzan &amp; Jane\u201d kind of jungle! That is, until you&#8217;ve actually stayed there. In fact, by the end of my stay here, I didn\u2019t want to leave. It directly impresses with its architecture that\u2019s inspired by Sanur\u2019s annual kite festival, and artwork from some of Bali\u2019s best emerging artists.<\/p>\n<p>I stayed here for two nights, and my Studio 20 room was cosy and super cool! Think a statement mural on the wall, a plush bed, modern designs and essential amenities. I had breakfast at its Indonesian restaurant Lidah Lokal, but I think the jewel of the crown is its rooftop space. There\u2019s a bar, a spa, and a swimming pool which glows at sunset.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Best for: <\/strong>Solo travellers, couples and small families, design and art lovers.<strong><br \/>\nLocal tip:<\/strong> The art space in the lobby is open to the public. I was warmly welcomed by the friendly staff (they all remembered my name!), along with traditional touches and local artwork.<\/p>\n<p>I was staying here solo, so I chose one of the spacious suites. But there are accommodation options for all travellers \u2013 couples, families and business trips too. I spent most of my days beside the lagoon pool, which is hidden amidst tropical gardens. It\u2019s a peaceful oasis where you can swim leisurely laps, or simply lounge on the sunbeds \u2013 some of which are actually submerged right in the water!<\/p>\n<p>Once I finally tore myself away from the pool, I found a fully-equipped fitness centre, a spa, jacuzzi and sauna.
