This vibey restaurant is surprisingly spacious, with an open air dining area and a lush green lawn out back. While the Indonesian and pan-Asian menu is designed for sharing, I could finish a large plate myself. I had the Indonesian chicken satay skewers which arrived at my table on a mini grill with plenty of peanut sauce. I paired them with \u201clontong\u201d rice cake, and finished with banana fritters served with coconut ice cream. I&#8217;ve grazed through the breakfast, lunch and dinner menus, which were all packed with health-conscious international dishes, crafted from the freshest local ingredients. The Egg Dip was a unique take on the classic &#8220;egg and soldiers&#8221; &#8211; it&#8217;s served in a little glass jar, with truffle potato puree at the bottom, gooey sous vide egg on top and a toasted sourdough to mop up all the goodness. While the dim sums weren&#8217;t my favourites, there&#8217;s a few things I would order again and again.<\/p>\n<p>The combination BBQ platter was a great choice since I wanted to swap, share and get a taste of it all &#8211; though you may not want to share those pork belly with crispy crackling&#8230; Another hit was the stir-fried green beans with minced pork and chilli. It&#8217;s a best seller for a reason! I often drop by for breakfast and a perfectly brewed coffee, but it&#8217;s the lunch and dinner menu that really has the neighbourhood talking.<\/p>\n<p>Here, you can grab your favourite bottle from The CORK Wine Shop, to then open and enjoy alongside the bistro&#8217;s signature dishes. There are high wooden ceilings, a counter lined with tempting pastries, and even a cosy kid\u2019s corner that families in Sanur are making the most of.<\/p>\n<p>For lunch, I tried the Moroccan Salad, but dinner was the real highlight. I came with my hungry friends and shared a few pizzas, all served piping hot from the lava stone oven. For delicious comfort food that&#8217;s easy on the budget, head to local markets and roadside eateries AKA <em>warung<\/em>. <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/2PNJhZk3PuKS3gz4A\"><strong>Warung Baby Monkeys<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/FB93kok1ktd85v1H7\"><strong>Lilla Warung<\/strong><\/a> serve traditional Indonesian dishes, with a few international options. Beachfront there&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/PrZ5wiDfgprEC5jNA\"><strong>Warung Amphibia<\/strong><\/a> with the freshest seafood, simply grilled to perfection. And that&#8217;s before I mention <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/wfRRhzB3iKdi7FMv7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Warung Mak Beng<\/strong><\/a> &#8211; which I will call the OG trending <em>warung<\/em>, as even though it has been standing there since 1941, it still manages to draw in massive crowds.<\/p>\n<p>You can also head to Sanur&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/ozJmZULMJNBmELZK6\"><strong>Sindhu Night Market<\/strong><\/a> for the best chicken satay I&#8217;ve tasted in the area. You&#8217;ll also find Sanur&#8217;s legendary <em>martabak<\/em> right here \u2013 you can even watch as the man behind the food cart fries it right in front of you! If you venture in-land across Jalan By Pass, you&#8217;ll find even more <em>warungs<\/em> and food markets, serving Balinese Babi Guling, Nasi Padang (Sumatra island&#8217;s version of Nasi Campur), and more.<\/p>\n<p><strong>My top insider tip before visiting a local <em>warung<\/em> or food market: <\/strong>Bring cash, preferably in small change (less than IDR 100,000 notes), as smaller <em>warungs<\/em> and local markets don&#8217;t accept cards.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hungry for more?
