From coffee shops to Instagrammable cafes and the cutest kid-friendly breakfast joints, here’s where we go for a casual brunch in Jakarta.
We take our brunch very seriously here at the Honeycombers HQ, and we’re not an easy bunch to please. We get that there are tonnes of trendy places opening up all over the Big Durian, but when the daily AM rolls around all we want is a perfect plate of eggs benedict and a perfectly brewed cuppa to kick things off. Whether you’re a sweet or savoury brunch type, read on for our favourite restaurants and cafes for an a la carte brunch in Jakarta.
THE BEST RESTAURANTS & CAFES FOR A CASUAL BRUNCH IN JAKARTA
1. Maple and Oak
This modern neighbourhood spot is popular amongst the breakfast crowd. Maple and Oak serves brunch classics with a contemporary twist – just imagine bone marrow coddled eggs, Nashville hot chicken and waffles, and not to mention their must-try toasted brioche slathered with their famous maple truffle butter. The small space has a limited seating, so we recommend heading there early if you’re dining on the weekend. Psst… elevate it and make it boozey with a glass of their natural wine.

2. One Fifteenth Coffee
Most famous for serving the best coffees in Jakarta, One Fifteenth Coffee also offers an incredible brunch menu, all day every day. Our favourite has to be their Eggs Florentine, 68 degree poached egg gratin served with mousseline sauce, or the sweet ricotta waffle topped with crème fraîche and berries sauce. Delicious!

3. Common Grounds
Common Grounds Coffee is a favourite in Jakarta for coffee connoisseurs and brunch bunch. With rotating guest baristas and regular pop-up brunch events, you know that you’ll be getting top notch brunch and java here!

4. Loewy
As a buzzing watering hole, Loewy is our pick for boozy brunches! Their bartenders whip up a mean Bloody Mary, and their brunch menu takes on timeless staples with a modern twist. Start the day right and get a taste of their scrummy dishes, and come back after work for their cocktails and New York speakeasy vibe.

5. Sophie Authentique
Sophie Authentique is wonderfully rustic French bakery with three posts, though if we had to pick a favourite it would be the large and bright Splash location. After all, there’s nothing better than starting the day off by sitting back in a swing chair while taking a warm bite out of our favourite chocolate almond croissant. Sophie Authentique makes their pastries from scratch, fresh every single day, so their food is nothing less than delightful.
