Now in its fourth year, the Ubud Food Festival (presented by ABC) has well and truly cemented itself on the annual calendars of every in-the-know foodie. It’s a three-day culinary celebration that quite simply cannot be missed, year after scrumptious year.
But with its ever-expanding itinerary filled to the finger-lickin brim with prolific and delicious foodie affairs, prioritising your must-see, must-book events is essential, to map your way around the munching fest and to make sure you watch, listen and taste everything you came to experience.

Friday 13th April, 7pm: Best of Bali at Mozaic
Mozaic needs no introduction – it’s the multi-award winning fine diner that put Bali’s food scene on the international map. So what better place to host some of the island’s best chefs for a five-course signature dish showdown? Executive chef and owner of Mozaic, Chris Salans, will be joined by Daniele Taddeo from GROW Bali, Kevin Cherkas from Cuca, Merah Putih’s Kieran Morland and Mandif Warokka of the stunning BLANCO par Mandif. Be sure to arrive ravenous.

Friday 13th April, 8pm: Kitchen Stage After Dark
In this late night foodie feast, Chef Ryan Squires (the mastermind behind Brisbane’s Esquire – a restaurant lauded for its ever-changing menu) will be presenting his insatiable knack for produce-based cooking. At this intimate long table dinner (and the first in the Kitchen Stage After Dark double bill) 16 lucky foodie folk will get to see what Bali’s produce inspires Chef Ryan to create.

Saturday 14th April, 6.30pm: From Lima to Madrid, Rome to Bali
To Bali with love! For any foodie that can’t get enough of “fruits del mar”, this seafood dinner from Daniel Chavez is one not to miss. With his Peruvian heritage and stellar Spanish training, this round-the-world kitchen superstar will be bringing his Mediterranean delicacies to the festival dining table, including his world famous ceviche from Ola Cocina Del Mar – one of Singapore’s most sought after plates.

Saturday 14th April, 7pm: Sharing the Best of the Archipelago
Ubud’s Nusantara by Locavore and Jakarta’s NUSA Indonesian Gastronomy both celebrate the nation’s rich culinary heritage with their remarkable array of refined traditional dishes. So to give all of us fellow foodies a taste of the very best, Nusantara’s Chef Putu and NUSA’s Chef Ragil will be serving signature dishes from the archipelago in the style they grew up with: sharing plates prepared with time-honored techniques and recipes spanning generations. This is one for flavour fiends.

Sunday 15th April, 6.30pm: The Magic of Mandapa
At Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, on a wooden platform nestled among the rice terraces of the Ayung Valley, hungry munchers will experience modern Indonesian and Balinese cuisine from the expert hands of Executive Chef Maurizio Bombini. We’ll also get to see for ourselves why Mandapa is one of Asia’s top-rated resorts, while indulging in eight scrumptious courses lovingly prepared using the region’s finest produce.

Sunday 15th April, 7pm: World Class Culinary Collective
This star-studded dinner is set to be a magical meeting of great culinary minds. Hungry foodies will be dished up an epic array of flavors spanning many seas from Michelin-starred Cheek by Jowl’s Rishi Naleendra, much vaunted Mejakawi’s Benjamin Cross, and coveted KAUM’s Wayan Kresnayasa, followed by world-class sweet temptations from the team at Room4Dessert.
