If 5,000sqm of beautiful sparkling lagoon pools isn't enough to get your attention, you only need to talk to frequently returning guests from The Laguna to know why this resort is a hugely popular favourite in Nusa Dua
There’s a lot of love on this island for the popular Nusa Dua resort The Laguna, a Luxury Collection Resort and Spa. With unrivalled Balinese hospitality and Bali’s largest lagoon pool [yes – 5,000sqm no less!] along the white sandy shores of the famous and family-friendly resort hub, The Laguna features endlessly in happy holiday memories. Why? This resort keeps just on giving… as well as getting jazzy new design updates.
The Laguna may have been around for a little while in Bali now, but they only reason you’d know it is by the much-love stories from the long-loving guests [and there’s a lot of them] who keep coming back every year or more. They love the hotel, the staff, the rooms, the lagoon pool, the food, the vibes, the beach, the stylish updates to keep the hotel rivalling all others in Nusa Dua.
So there’s a lot to love here. Aside from the great value for money and ‘massages in the beach facing gazebos’ – which takes the cake on a lovely long leisurely beach day – their rooms are current, styley and large. So here’s a few of the reasons why we loved The Laguna when we first-time stayed recently.
First love: The Lagoon Pool
Or should we say, Lagoon Wonderland – it’s Bali’s largest with 5,000 sqm of lagoon pool in total across the complex. Some with sandy beach floors, some with glamorous pool settings near the beach, some tucked away in quieter, more tranquil areas to totally chillax. If you don’t want spend at least half your time lounging here with a good book or cocktails, you’re doing something wrong.
Second love: The Villas
Having stayed at many great villas across Bali, these ones might be amongst the most spacious and even moreso given today’s definition of Seminyak villa land sizes. Heaps of space, especially outdoors – it reminds us of that ‘old Bali’ spaciousness. And, the villas are built around a private ‘secret garden’ accessed only by villa guests. Weddings, romantic dinners, yoga or picnics – it’s all yours (shared with only other villa guests).
Third love: The rooms
Size matters, and all room categories are great sizes. Stylishly designed, the hotel enjoys regular (gentle) updates which makes it always fresh and shiny, but the large spaces also stay the same – result! Our favourite has to be the lagoon access rooms – sometimes walking to your swim is just that bit too much effort, you know!?
Forth love: Experiences
Personal experiences is The Laguna’s unique touch and point of difference. Aside from the lovely Balinese hospitality which means nothing is ever too much trouble, The Laguna offers regular, special events on the property – romantic dinners, Balinese blessing ceremonies, BBQ by the Beach, The Sunday Brunch or Fisherman’s Night Out – along with oodles of great experiences right across the island. Just ask the uber-experienced concierges, and you won’t be disappointed.
Final love: It’s a toss up
The staff are so lovely that you can easily take their happy smiles and endless offers of help for granted, but trust us – it’s not to be taken for granted amongst all of Bali. Here though, it’s an everyday standard. But secondly, has to be their pampering. No holiday in Bali counts unless you’re having at least one massage a day, right! The Lagoon Spa is heaven, but if you can’t drag your relaxing self to the spa from your beach sun-lounger, don’t fret. Just move a tad to the beach cabanas and get blissed out there. Tooooo easy.
