Bring Bali's beautiful landscape inside your own villa with handcrafted ceramics perfecting this potted plants paradise
If pastels, pottery and potted greenery are your kind of Sunday morning, still followed by a lazy Sunday brunch or yoga class naturally, then you need to pay a visit to this little hidden treasure Republic of Plants buried between Umalas and Canggu.
We’re seeing a big trend in beautiful ceramics around Bali lately, and this discovery comes fully accessorised with its own greenery collection, no less! Republic of Plants opened its ever so cute ‘n’ kitsch doors in February, and has been creating quite a stir amongst Bali’s green lovers and energy cleansers ever since. Because sometimes even in paradise, we just need to get a bit more nature in our life – so balancing out with some green living, is now that bit easier.
Over in the travel friendly kitchen division, teapots, mugs, vases and colanders can be found in all the peaceful hues of a muted rainbow (sigh). In the plant department, all sorts of cacti and succulents surround, from purple echeveria to funky opuncja (who doesn’t know what these babies are!) with all sorts of flower budding and lucky bamboo in between.
The process of picking out your new plant is as very similar to grabbing a new summer dress, but obviously more of a commitment given you’ll be living together for some time after you leave the store.
Step one: look around with eager eyes and pick the perfect pot packaging for your green roomie. Maybe you’re a geometric glass terrarium kind of girl. Maybe something vintage inspired with a hint of mustard is more your style? No problem.
Step two: pick your new dearly beloved, your actual plant. Remembering this is a living creature you’re investing in, take your time and wait until the connection happens!
Step three: accessorize with tiny pebbles or shiny beads that will help keep your new pal in place. The friendly Republic of Plants team will then put your plant life ensemble together, ready to be escorted back to its new home.
