If you haven’t, Alila’s new Seminyak address is opening up a whole new world of gorgeous luxury for Bali resorts – so read on! They’ve upped the ante on tropical cool.

From the minute you drive in off Jalan Petitenget and arrive into the vast, double-height, vertical garden that surrounds the vast lobby area, you relax into a sense of tranquility that’s at beautiful odds with buzzing Seminyak. And with two enormous infinity pools [perched on top of their restaurants] that look out to the blue horizon, you soon forget you’re in Seminyak at all! [Until you wander next door to Potato Head]. Spacious, beautifully understated in the Alila-style they’ve become known for, the rooms offer all amenities and finishing touches you want for a styling, Seminyak beach stay. But it’s the sophisticated, elegant touches that sets this resort apart.
Entry level Superior or Deluxe Rooms [46sqm] are located closest to street access only a short walk to the main hotel area, then into the Deluxe Garden or Ocean Suites [72sqm] with lovely big chill-out zones on your balcony or terraces. Or book into the Club Suites at 117sqm for more space to lounge and love. Huge bathrooms in designer style completes your private holiday stay space.
To truly live it up, go for one of Bali’s most styling penthouses – 811sqm of ocean-facing sophistication, three bedrooms, and an infinity pool with an outdoor dining and living terrace that is bigger than most entire villas! If only.
RESTAURANT & BEACH BAR
The Restaurant [all day dining] has an impressive menu from breakfast through to dinner, sprawling from indoors to outdoors, between the bar and the main pool and fronted by ocean views. The impressive and varied menu goes on for hours, and you will want to try at least three or four things each guaranteed. It’s all veree delish.
With endless communal tables, comfy seating and sun loungers, overlooking that Seminyak beach as well as internal open kitchen, merges the a la carte menu with Asian Noodle Bar and a Grill & Rotisserie. All bases covered!
The Beach Bar is a breezy, prime spot for unwinding under the sun or stars. Sink into the daybeds or armchairs with an an Alila signature cocktail or two, and enjoy Middle-Eastern inspired menu of snacks whilst the DJ or live music acts provide the perfect sundowner playlist. You’ll be a there a long, leisurely while!
TIP TOP LOCATION
Say. No. More. You’re in the bullseye of Seminyak’s shopping, dining and drinking district here at this one. Yet the best bit, is you wouldn’t know it once inside the resort as it’s a peaceful haven of luxurious space, sophistication and quiet.
You’re beachfront neighbours to Potato Head and La Lucciola, or street-fronting neighbours to Petitenget restaurant/cafe, hu’u bar and restaurant, Bambu and only small walking distances up or down Jalan Petitenget towards Mexicola, Sea Circus and Bali Boatshed or the new Shanghai Baby and Saigon Street restaurants, along with Magali Pascal and Lulu Yasmine boutiques for your shopping heaven. Location perfection.

So, our verdict: Five star review all the way. Alila Seminyak is the welcome and wonderful addition to Seminyak’s hotel and resort scene for this very, contradictory reason – it’s the perfect, elegant Seminyak ‘scene’ you crave, when not wanting a Seminyak scene at all.
