La Finca hits the spot
Spain, Bali! Spain, Bali! What do you do when you fancy both? Well, you head to La Finca, of course. This super friendly Spanish restaurant combines the best of both worlds and brings you a bite of Ibiza-inspired dining right here in Bali.
This relaxed restaurant is just off the tourist track between Canggu and Batu Belig. It’s well worth a detour for authentic and delicious tapas, hearty mains, and a good wine list that doesn’t just serve the same run of the mill drop you’ll see everywhere.
Nothing says olé like a sangria and we are big fans of these authentic concoctions. Sangria ‘La Reina’ Blanca is made with strawberries, apples, oranges lime, rosemary and wine and goes phenomenally well with any of the tapas on offer. If truffle garlic prawns, house recipe fried squid with black ink aioli, or beef meatballs with fresh tomato sauce and feta cheese doesn’t get your mouth watering, then nothing will.
There are some great mains; for any die-hard carnivores the Carne a la Piedra, which translates to meat on a stone (let’s face it, the name says it all!), is the go-to choice.
There’s also a mixologist (what happened to the good old fashioned bartender?!) who makes super fresh cocktails that change every week depending on what’s in season.
If that’s whet your appetite for some decent Spanish, then head to the other side of the island and check out El Kabron – Spanish Restaurant and Cliff Club in Uluwatu for some good food and amazing sunset views.
