If you are a lover of take-away coffees, you may have noticed that some businesses in Bali, including Shady Shack, Expat. Roasters, and Square One in Sanur, have started using susainable and eco-friendly packaging, and this is all thanks to an awesome enterprise called Avani.
Avani is a Bali-based start-up company that is trying to tackle the plastic problem that Indonesia is facing. By supplying 100% sustainable & eco-friendly, disposable packaging solutions and compostable retail plastic alternatives, they are slowly eliminating the need for toxic plastics being used on the island, helping to preserve Bali’s ecosystem. They even have a shopping bags that went torn up and placed in a glass of water will dissolve almost instantly, leaving a tasty green drink!
Avani products include take-away cups and boxes, wooden eating utensils, paper straws, shopping bags, poly bags, garbage bags, and the awesome Biowear Eco Poncho [which proves very helpful during rainy season!].
