Innika & Pern Choo Wed
What happens when you marry one gorgeous fashion stylist, Innika Chamberlin, with one talented resort planner, Pern Choo?
You get one heck of a stylish Bali wedding. Photos galore; brides to be: take notes!
Where did you hold wedding and why did you choose the venue?
We had a welcome trivia night at Sea Circus (Seminyak). Speak to Charlie if you need anything. The ceremony and reception were held at Taman Ahimsa (Canggu).
Any professional wedding planner help?
No wedding planner, just me. However, we did hire M&M catering to arrange all the contractors on the day – so we could enjoy and have a drink.
Gotta love those colours. Tell us about your inspiration.
Being an island wedding, we wanted to keep the colours fresh and light. We layered whites, creams, and beige in varying textures – inspired by Pern’s keen interest in architecture. Bold mustard accents completed the look, inspired by my engagement ring (a canary diamond). I love the strength of the bold yellow against the light colour combo.
Spills the deets on the day’s looks please!
I wore a Monique Lhuillier bodice and custom skirts. I had Jimmy Choo shoes on – I am a Choo after all! Pern had a good old Zara suit on. The man can wear anything. He also had custom shirts made by Aston Blake, mustard loafers and tie from Nordstrom.

How did you prep for the wedding? Did you have to travel to Bali often?
We went to Bali about 5 times in total – no complaints on either side.
Top three tips for brides-to-be?
1. Do a mood board. It was so helpful to show each contractor the complete vision and inspiration. It definitely helped them understand our theme.
2. Get your man onboard. It’s so rewarding when you both plan the day together. Might be the only job you guys actually ever collaborate on, and it’s a rite of passage for marriage. Get through the wedding planning and you can probably get through marriage.
Disclaimer: There will be fights.
3. Make sure your guests bring along some sort of swimwear to the reception. If there’s a pool and there’s tequila… they’re going in. Our guests were in their bras and undies. One girl mysteriously lost her clothes. It was wild. Even my uncle Rodney jumped in the pool in his white saggy y-fronts. Hilarious.
And an extra one:
4. If you’re planning the wedding festivities over a few days, make sure the wedding is early on so you can relax and go wild the rest of the time.
Would you have done anything different?
Not have drunk so much tequila.
