Shell chandeliers to a new level, gorgeous woven home & fashion accessories, textiles and cushions to brighten your day and a big range of everything else fabulous, Kim Soo is an address you need to know
Is it just me, or do other people come to Bali for more reasons than just checking out the brilliant homeware stores in Bali, right across the island? OK OK, so Bali’s beautiful people, culture, sunset bars, beaches and experiences might also attract a few visitors – but it’s also true that homewares shopping here is on another level if you know where to go. Welcome to Kim Soo: a new interiors mecca in Seminyak.
Kim Soo is a gorgeous homewares and design store in Seminyak, that we might have already spent a whole lot of time and money in. [Just saying, in the interests of full disclosure.] It’s little bit bohemian, a little bit ethnic, a little bit contemporary, a little bit vintage and a whole lot of loveliness.
Not far from the beautiful and sacred Petitenget Temple and just up from Sea Circus and Urchin [opposite The Samaya], Kim Soo is an exotic treasure hunt of fabulous & luxurious interiors. Yessssss. But the best thing about all of the delicious treasures, we say, is the surprisingly affordable prices for Seminyak – especially given how styley all those products are!
They source products from across the Indonesian Archipelago, manufacture and design their own unique pieces and feature wood, metal, textiles, stone, grasses and paper to produce a diverse range of interesting and unique products. Cushions, rugs, chopping boards, wall hangings, ceramics, marble kitchenware, straw hats, beaded baskets, shell chandeliers.. the lovely long list of fabulous choices goes on, and [trust us] so will your purchases.
Nestled in to a Dutch Colonial facade and sharing their address with Seminyak’s favourite Lello Lello Gelato and Petite India roti canai street kitchen, you’ve no excuse not to wander in and take a while.
We love that they’ve combined the traditional with modernity, beautifully showcasing the exceptional creative skills of Indonesia but not one thing is done in a cliched way. It’s just all internationally stylish, and at home anywhere in the world.
And, they’ve already gathered an Indonesian and International clientele with shipping their products across the world from Japan, to France, to Australia and New Zealand. So you can go hard, go home across the world, and not have to worry about your luggage allowance being over. Tick!
But for that which you do plan to buy and carry yourself, don’t worry about bringing a big bag. Just grab a new, gorgeous one from the store whilst you’re at it. Because, you know: #efficiency.
