We’ll give you a clue: they’re not sipping on gin and juice at the big name beach clubs, they’re tucked away in the smoky confines of 40 Thieves – a New York-style speakeasy – supping on world-class cocktails surrounded by the island’s hippest [and hottest] crowds.
As the coolest new underground bar in town, 40 Thieves [which is actually situated upstairs, not underground] keeps its regulars coming back time and time again with two-for-one cocktails every Friday and Saturday night, in line with its Boogie and Bourbon Friday party and Sabbath Saturdays. And to keep things fresh, the selection of happy hour cocktails change weekly – they know how to keep us on our dancing toes!
Our faves? Try the Moscow Mule [an expert version of the classic] and the Spiced Gimlet which almost tastes like Christmas in a glass, and who doesn’t love Christmas?! The reason these cocktails are so goddamn delicious is down to award-winning bartender and entrepreneur, Shah Dillon – a man with a seriously big rep in the cocktail world. He curates craft cocktails and artisanal spirits with genuine [and slightly flamboyant] hospitality – what more could you want?
Oh right, food of course! Well, 40 Thieves sits on top of Mad Ronin [a cool little spot for Japanese ramen] so slurp down some soba for dinner, then head upstairs for some late night sips and some seriously raucous good times.
