Quench your thirst for natural wines on February 29 when Sydney booze gurus P&V Merchants roll into town. The Newtown-based specialists will be washing up in Canggu on the Saturday night, taking The Slow hostage with a full venue takeover, devoted to natural wines, bar bites, and good times. Kicking off from 7.00pm, the night will be a chance to sample the specialty wines of P&V co-founders Mike Bennie and Lou Dowling, and talk about all things grape juice with the duo.
From 7.00pm until late, the P&V Merchants team will be pouring a curated selection of natural wines from around the globe, focused around Australian avant-garde and artisan producers says Bennie. “Expect a range of good-times, fizzy and fun pet nats, a deep selection of killer orange wines, straight-up to-be-chilled-and-crushed, light reds and, of course, some more serious gear for those inclined.”
The specialty drinks will be partnered with a one-night-only menu from Executive Chef Daniel Medcalf designed with wine in mind. Picture jalapeno poppers and buttery rolls stuffed with lobster among the bar bites available, served with a limited offering of the traditional menu at The Slow Kitchen & Bar. The night’s soundtrack will be provided by a special guest DJ, spinning vinyl well into the early hours.
